you may have come across this type before. the young, perky professor who's knows it all and you peons of students know nothing

because

she has a license of knowledge and you don't.


anyhow, the wheel of karma is coming around

all the most able professors i ever had not only listened but even faked interest in what their students had to say.

This thread title is needlessly provocative.

And "Young" and "perky" are things BW probably hasn't been accused of since he served in Germany.

I found this story very entertaining, because I hang out at a right-wing political blog that made a very big deal about Saving Dartmouth.  They forgot to tell the rest of America that the education provided at Dartmouth already sucks.  And they still don't want to talk about it tongue

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.

was that "your" point?  because as we all know, the audience of a text imparts a different values system and needs hierarchy than the author.

I'm hoping that the situation is limited to just this Lecturer, and that the rest are in their jobs because they are qualified and have a good student feedback and not because some incompetent gonk can't be arsed to do his job properly.
I'm expecting reality to be to the contrary.
