This has been a topic in the mod forum for a few days. I am going to clarify the switching of allies to war a family. There is nothing wrong with changing allies, but, to change allies to war a family and then go back to the previous allies after that war would complete an illegal alliance.

Yes but you cant make up the rules as you go along ... im not in either of the families involved but as long as its signed in the relations page I think its a legal alliance.
Hmm..well the situation is, 879 dropped and pnaped their allies 881, to align with 885 and war 874, because 881 had a pnap with 874. 881 are now at war with 886 (874's allies). Note that the pnap between 874 and 881 was made before 874 and 886 became allies...hmm..that looks confusing reading over it

In effect, 881 have been dropped by 879 so they could align with 885 to fight 874 in a 2v1, whilst 881 wars 874's allies, 886, keeping it a 2v1. Note that this was all started with a conflict between 874 and 879. A NAP was offered to 879, but they refused, allowing what has happened to unfold.
Anyway. It's nice to be in a big war - I have confidence in my fam, though I'm not happy with the rather dirty way it is being fought by our enemez and their leaders X(!
The only way this would be IA is if 879 switch back to 881 after the war.. If they do so then yes it was an illegal alliance and worthy of mod action..
But if 879 stick with whoever they allied now then it is merely a switch of alliance and therefore is nothing wrong.. Mods cant act untill after the war so they can see what 879 and 881 choose..
I must admit after thinking about this.. It is rather a cloudy area where most of the rules are concerned..
We will see what happens
well if you consider 3 out of the top 5 fams attacking a lower than 10th rank fam to be a strategy man... and as for axsome not having planets, lygo just gave you about 15 of ours
