Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

LG:
I was hoping to keep the conversation here focused towards this entirely new race.
(It has very little to do with Pop or really true CF banking)

You proposed a Pop race, I was commenting on that, by sharing a bit of history.
I was merely asking you to take a separate race discussion to new thread.

@ Everyone.

At the moment PA is the one helping shape this race - and most of the other things have been (as things often are) on unrelated topics.

  We are creating something new!
  Help us finish it.

Everyone is welcome to review the race and suggest changes that stay with the theme.

If we can take a fiirst conservitive new idea to Pie, perhaps he will more heavily weigh our next colabortive effort.

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Yea this last write up looks pretty good to me.

It doesn't have any advantages to where it is unbalanced .... and has enough to make people actually want to use it.

Would be good in SN.... cast protection mode before bed and sleep worry free.

I think the length of protection mode can be wiggled around possibly between 6 - 12 tics ... not sure where the sweet spot is there to make it fair.

Pie, can we put it up to a vote and see what everyone thinks?

Never rule out the possibility that you are a complete idiot

An enlightened race of pacifists.

I do believe Sir Pickle said it best...

"Pie, can we put it up to a vote and see what everyone thinks?"

Thank for all your help everyone.
Looking forward to the next one with you.  smile

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Pacifiers:
- Pmode spell: 3h pmode. Can be casted 6 times every 24h. (Pmodde gets also lifte after attacking yourself).
- Zero offensive ops, only intel gathering ops
- Less vulnerable to bureacracy or decay (0.2%)
- 150% speed
- 50% income
- 25% science
- minus 50% attack
- 10% magic
- 10% pop

Great banker for takeovers,  and fast expanse. Outside pmode very vulnerable.

~Defending is an Art~

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

If your still having all same ops as darks race it's almost to much of a race. I mean I would definitely use it over custom banker now tho 235 race points but really  255 because -50 attack is really just -30

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Well guys, you watched Pickle and I basically talk about this for a week straight , and really didn't contribute much.

You want a full revamp to fix whatever gopher you see run across the table. A lot of work went into this while you guys were going on about "your own race", how inflation works, and how much you like other things, and now, how op you think this is.

The inconsistency is palpable.

This is almost the exact same race that you said was underpowered and worthless before.

It's been submitted to Pie already.

Next time, please try joining the conversation in a timely manner.
We have lives and shit.

^ im talking about lightguns revamp which now can be a pop banker - has higher income has higher speed and more science

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Thanks for the contributions everybody!  Looks great, and Transcendence and Arbitration sound incredible.

I have some work to wrap up on some community features, will likely be looking into this one next.

Good work!

Got a few bucks?  The Imperial Tip Jar is accepting contributions!

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Know I'm chiming in late,
You said it would be good for a Nooblet race, but I feel it's more of a race for someone who knows the game inside and out, they would also have to be insanely active to make it worthwhile playing.

The pmode op, hmmm.... Stashing a bank against ops.... To add with the less decay business, not bad, until an active opper sits and waits for you to come out of pmode and decimates the entire bank. Activity would be key here I guess, make sure the stack is passed b4 that time. And I guess they are an opper race holding heavy op defence, but not much can stop a well funded pax.

Lots of useful ops, great since ops cost morale these days.

In a production role, they can't res, banking isn't great, but neither is a pax and people still run them.

As a role for a leader, I totally get it, except I like to attack when I lead big_smile

Guess I just wanted to hash this out visually to get perspective, it grew on me as I wrote this.
I probably didn't add anything useful here lol.

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Actually Random, you did what I hope everyone does. smile

You actually read words!
You you have recognized it's inherent (and intentional) flaws, but understand the niche impact if played to its max (like any of the standard races).

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

The way I was thinking that it works for a truly new person (explained in much further detail on the first page) is you really just have to point to the 40% and say "cf's.

Easy to teach that.

Re: Dreamweavers (Pax lore) / Callidus (Latin for cunning):

Yeah I get that, you like to say go do stuff monkey lol,
I don't really see a new person picking that race out of the bunch tho, but ya never know,
Would also be good for an active late joiner, gives them lots to do and be involved even if you can't dump planets on them.

Hopefully my last post helped clarify the race a bit for some people, just pointing how it can be used in a practical fashion.
I know people find it hard to understand your jibber jabber big_smile
