How do I stay in the same family?  Do I have to wait for my galaxy to restart?

If it's a stay in family round, then when the next round starts, on the menu will be an option to rejoin your old family.  There will also be an option to random in.    Or at least there should be.

I've tried to stay in my fam when the option came up.  I always ended up somewhere else.  Do I have to wait for the same galaxy to reopen?

Yes. The galaxy will open up later today, and you'll have the option there to join your 'preset' family, you can also chose to random in.

Hi MorkfraMork,

If you log out and log in again, you should see a "Reserved" type message.  If you click that link you can fill out your empire info and join your family after.

It just keeps telling me that my name and empire already exist whether I try to join the family I have a spot reserved in or random in.  It says there is a spot open in Milky Way.

History/HoF is undergoing changes atm.  Galaxies used to get deleted and reset for a new round, which is also where the history would get saved.

Now we keep the old galaxy/families/empires preserved in their final tick, but the actual hall of fame and history part needs to be updated accordingly.  Your info is there though, and will show up correctly when these changes are finished.
