Costs 100% morale to cast, puts a force feild around the player for 10 ticks. The player cant attack or be attacked also shouldn't be able to opp.

Allowing players who are being crushed protected temporarily at there choice and planning. To give a defensive apsect to the game

What is protection mode?
Protection mode is a feature which prevents empires from being completely wiped out by enemy forces. The benefit of protection mode is that whilst in it, no attacks or hostile operations can be made towards your empire (this only counts for planets which have been owned for longer than 48 hours). Your empire will enter protection mode if you lose 50% of your planets (of which you have owned for longer than 48 hours) within a 24 hour period. Any planets lost which were explored or attacked in the last 48 hours will not be eligible for protection
Protection mode lasts for 48 hours. However, before this time performing any of the following WILL also take your empire out of protection:
- Attacks on anyone (i.e. sending a fleet)
- Performing special operations
- Exploration

Note: Protection mode takes effect after the required amount of planets are taken.

Note 2: In King Of The Hill (KOTH) galaxies protection mode will not apply to hill systems.



And by doing it your way, would it not be misused by some!

Why not change the % from 50 to 30

And by placing your self in P-mode, should you not be penalized for this move.
Say you put your self in this 10hr p-mode,
but your infrastructure shuts down for those same 10hrs.
Nor are you able to send or receive any aid for the same amount of time

Or how about you can only do it once per round
Or one per family

Myself I don't like the idea, but with the implemented of one of the above, I could come to live with it!

No pmode you cant make any attacks within so many hours right?
Well an opp does not do that and doesnt last as long but it is similar yes

Only suggested it because of pies forum post about the youtube video about making the game easier. ...gives scared ppl an option

It could use some adjustment but I like the general idea of adding buff/debuffs to our set of ops.

We may get this in some form soon, as I plan to make No Fear (and Space Amazement) castable on other empires.  So you could cast NF on a buddy to give them the 10% atk/def boost.

Invincibility is another level though.  I could see this making sense if there were some tradeoff of some kind.  Maybe you could cast it per planet, but as a result you lose population or buildings or something?

leads to starvation because the people are being cut off everything..
Due Forcing the planet into a time lapse all infrastructure benefits whitin (2 or 3) ticks of distance from this system are being on hold for X ticks.

(in this order attackers and defenders have to make a choice... lacking benefits or making more def tongue)
