I mean 70% size of galaxy. Dropping from 100x100 -> 70x70 instead of 100x100 -> 50x50.
42 min ticks though, that would be strange indeed!
I would suggest saving the 30 min tics for supernova and the like ... leave MW traditional (and don't make it too small it seems like there will be more actives next round!)
Oh just saw in the Supernova thread it has to be all or none ...
if we go from 100x100 to 70x70 (but keep planet count and system counts...)
Why? the density will go up.. think about minefield game... the more mines will come in the harder games
on the easier games the mines are further apart..
I believe you said you wanted to make the game less acivity-rewarding. Making the ticks faster will only reward crazy activity.
just remove 1 team 8 teams of 6, if needed we can add a spot.
i dont think the size of galaxy needed to be changed, btu there were some dead teams thats didnt use their space.
You know what's funny, is that it turns out this round *wasn't* 4 weeks after all. It was 6 all along haha. I suppose it just felt like it's ending before anything really happened.
Anyway, here's the plan as of now:
Registration will open 24 hours before the current round ends. The round will start 48 hours after registration opens.
As a reminder, this is the new "blind registration" process which means you won't actually be placed/get to coordinate until 24 hours before the round starts.

Tick speed will remain at 1 hour. We aren't yet ready to speed the game up without possibly causing some problems.

Cutting galaxy size in half seems a bit fucking drastic ![]()
Whaaat 80x80 was what we were doing when we had like 80 registrations in a galaxy.
Actually that's not a bad gauge perhaps. Map size scale by # of signups.

We can bump it if you guys want. Even 80x80 though sounds way too big, unless we get more signups than last round.
Just cause it's 80,80 doesn't mean it has to be filled with systems just let's teams not be 6 ticks eachothers home systems
A sparser distribution will definitely help, but it will also lead to slower paced battles. Not necessarily a bad thing but worth mentioning.
A lot is going to depend on how many signups we get. 40 players is going to require a much different setup than 80.
