An experimental hardcore galaxy is opening, named Balius.  It is open for pre-round registration.

What is pre-round registration?

The new system we are testing will allow players to join a queue, and once the pre-round registration window is closed everybody will be placed into the galaxy at once.

The benefit to this new system is that behind the scenes, we won't actually generate the galaxy itself until we know how many people are going to be playing.  This is in contrast to the old system where we would open a pre-generated galaxy not knowing how many people would join.

Additionally, this means that players will finally be evenly distributed amongst the families before the round starts.

Highlights

Balius is a galaxy of 2-player families, with no drafting and no unofficial alliances.  Additionally, starting resources will be 100x and the galaxy itself is going to be short (4 weeks) and very small (exact details TBD).
