Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

I don't think ops are dirty, they are part of the game. If you haven't defended yourself well, you shouldn't attack a fam with Undeath in it tongue

the problem is not the ops he did, the problem is he posted here coord from FF portals for all the galaxy!

Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

Why is that a bigger problem than large families still operating under the assumption that they can farm small families without repercussions?

That said, I'm not sure what's worse. The mod who plays dirty, or the admin who supports it.

See? Opping is playing dirty. It's ok to attack someone a fraction of your size for easy planets, it's not ok for that person to op and ask for help. This attitude? This attitude is a problem.

You're not just opping, not asking for any help.

You're opping and then publicly stating what planets are now without portal. You are not even engaging in a so called Illegal Alliance. If you would do that, there would actually be a sort of cooperation in this. You're now just randomly CPFF'ing planets, in the hope that someone is eager enough to attack these.

I'm not at all saying that the fam attacking is not doing anything wrong. On the contrary, it's quite pathatic. But then again, they are not the people that come closest to a referee in this game.

My point exactly.

And my case again. I agree that they should not. But appropriate repercussion is in my opinion not posting this stuff in the forum. Least of all from a moderator.

Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

you can keep it up with ops 2-3 more days and after you will start to disband

Then that's 2-3 more days that the #1 nw fam's attacker has to dedicate 100% of his morale to attacking me, leaving you vulnerable.

Why would me being a moderator impact this at all? This attitude is why many moderators end up going inactive. I'm not doing anything illegal, I'm not even tip toeing any grey areas.

Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

IA rounds have zero limitations on how people choose to coordinate.  Posting op info in the forum is allowed, and being part of the staff has nothing to do with anything.  If a player can do it, so can a mod.

Now whether or not players *should* do it is really a matter of opinion.  My own personal opinion is that it's fair game, and gives motivation/purpose to players who might otherwise give up and go inactive.

Regardless of opinion though, this is 100% allowed in IA rounds.  The mods have no special responsibility here to avoid doing what other players can just because they're a mod.

Again, a galaxy will be opening up soon where this is *not* allowed for players who prefer a softer experience.  For this round though, the registration thread clearly stated that this was an IA round.

Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

I did not make ANY complaints about the ops...in here or to the lowlife player I am attacking.

I am disputing his actions of posting information in the public forum as military intelligence for ALL others to  use.....its beyond any tactics, its simply a spiteful cry out that he cant win, hes not good enuf, and clearly with a petty much empty family, he doesn't play well with others.

I like pie...get a life....I have never shied away from any kind of galaxy....I have played as an attacker all my playing days....have kicked your butt and most of everyone elses in the game at some point....as I have had mine kicked.....FAIRLY.  To say I may need a softer galaxy is simply an insulting remark for you to make....what I need is a fair galay...where rules and unwritten rules that have been followed for years are respected.

and with collusion by game ownership with his buddies in game.....you may keep your buddy playing...but there will be no part of the game I will have anything to do with as long as I know that this kind of behaviour is supported.

pick away at all the techicalties you want as to if he has the right to post cords etc....but its wrong....most players know it....they don't do it.....its a respect thing for each other who all spend tons of time playing......a lack of respect will just turn into a lack of players.

we did everything right this round.....no drafts, nevrer a full family, no ia's, and we still succeeded.....much to everyone elses surprise......just unfortunate that some cant deal with it.

1. Speaking of insults, insinuating that the # of players in my family has anything at all to do with whether or not I play well with others is laughable, cute though.

2. It's hard to say that posting coords in forums is an unwritten rule that players have followed for years...because actually until this round it was a written rule that players couldn't post coords.

3. It's not spiteful, but it is admitting I can't win a planet exchange. I assumed that was understood, as that's why you targeted me in the first place.

4. You're literally asking for settings and rules that are going to be applied in the softer galaxy...

I'm developing for IC.  It's a bit too late for that. =P

The "softer galaxy" thing isn't intended as an insult, but it is true.  You may have done well as an attacker over the years but it's been in an objectively easier game than what IA allows.

IA is different, it's a new challenge, and it is more difficult because the safety nets players are used to don't exist.  If you don't prefer it that's fine, but it doesn't mean that things are unfair.  Everybody can do this, nobody has a special advantage.

IA is plenty fair.  What it isn't, is easy.  Some vets will embrace the challenge, and others will complain because it takes them out of their comfort zone.  Whether or not you're able to stay competitive will depend on your ability to adapt.

pogo wrote:

There is no "collusion" with game ownership/buddies here.  Everybody is welcome to do this in IA galaxies.

pogo wrote:

IA was allowed this round.  If you chose not to do so in an IA galaxy, that is totally fine.  However, that gives you no morale high ground over other players.

pogo wrote:

They're clearly dealing with it just fine.  On the contrary, you are the one saying you are going to quit.

Again it's not intended as an insult, but if you're only willing to play in a galaxy where "this kind of behaviour" isn't supported then by definition that means you need a galaxy that is less difficult.

You've been attacking for awhile and are indeed quite skilled at it.  Are you willing to channel your former self and adapt to new strategic challenges?

That's up to you.

Re: Free Planets in Starburst!

I just want to chime in that 3841 farmed my two player bottom ranked fam from 190ish planets to 95 (with a few losses to another fam).

So, Boo-hoo to the top fams that start one sided fights with small fams that have had enough of it and decide to fight back as best they can and within the rules of the galaxy. Sorry this isn't a cakewalk like in the past and you actually have to suffer at the hands of those less fortunate.

You guys get to the top of the rankings and still complain. What is good enough for you? Do you want a sub class of players you can just stomp on that are unable to strike back in any manner? Sorry then, because the reality is IA allows us small guys to do these things and make your lives more difficult. You better stick to non IA rounds where you can just stomp all over the less fortunate families. I will likely be going partax in future rounds just to shit on top fams that pull the crap you guys have been doing round after round, year after year.

yup he's logging on to his account

this is indeed the forums

he is indeed doing this

so yeah, cheating.
