I wonder if as VIP you could draft yourself into an empty sn fam and thus select your location on the map?

Pre round Alliances could (ab)use this to setup next to eachother. First member randoms into it and instructs the rest what fam to enter.

This will also allow for picking best hs basesd on position and cluster density.

In other words. Do sn fams have a draftslot?

The SN setup disallows drafts which makes this impossible.

This would be a feature that would require certain safeguards. VIP should be to enhance the game, not give an advantage such as cheery picking the most system dense or safest map positions before other can be online to random in.

Due to a virulent strain of moronic mods, your population are worried they will spawn some of their own therefore they have resorted to wearing mod-idoms. Pop growth is reduced by half.

It could be a decent feature for a VIP-only galaxy.  Not a bad idea.

In a VIP-only galaxy I wonder if you could have a queue system so everyone submits a list of fam # after seeing the map and 12 ticks before rnd start everyone gets assigned to their most preferred system - any double ups gets decided by random chance, then that person gets their 2nd choice, unless someone had it as a first preference. then they get third and so on... if run out of list get random placement once all choices get assigned
