People do it every round. That's why history can be hidden. As long as you're not trying to impersonate another player, then I think it's alright. Mods have to hide every round. If not, you big meanies would kill us off.

Then why is it that i have several mods finding me in SD while i play undercover, using their mod interface to find out where I am, as if im not allowed to play hidden.

Only a couple people knew who I was in the game.

The mods can usually find your empire in game usually do to your IP.  Or email during signup, and what empire is used under that email...

Guys, sorry to raise an old topic, but I have a problem with the game through a proxy server. Is that still someone was? or is it generally against the rules? thanks in advance for the answer!

These both got changed in the new rules:

Using a proxy is no longer explicitly forbidden.  We now recognize that there are legitimate situations where a player may use a proxy both out of choice or out of necessity.
