Topic: Starburst: 1st Phase Pre-Ranking
Hi all,
Feedback would be great, would appreciate it. This not a PvC, or how great the fam is, it is purely based on number of players and some thoughts about their position on the map.If you want to msg me on Discord about your fam (so I can do an actual PvC) you have my promise that 1) I will divulge any information that you don't want to be known and 2) I will not post your player names if that is what you want. I am also sorry that I couldn't include all families, as I don't want to do all the families. However, if you spring up the ranking later on, I will definitely include you. In anycase, here are my thoughts.
1.(3839)
Probably the best position on the map. Families surround them, but far enough away that they can establish a pretty stupid core. Dense planet clusters all around, a number of systems within 2 ticks of HS. Great position.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 5/5
Total: 10/10
2.THE SUPER 5 (3828)
One of the best map positions in the game. They have a 2 ticker nearby to explore early. They are in the middle of the map, but they have routes to escape into rich planet clusters. They also have 1 major enemy in the near vicinity, however they can play around it easily.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 4/5
Total: 9/10
3.5 D\'s of DodgebalL (3836)
A pretty good position even though they are in the middle of the map. They have families on all sides, but they have options of running out the to bottom left without much problem. Have a good planet density around them.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 3.5/5
Total: 8.5/10
4.~~Oceanic Waves~~ (3830)
Position on the board isn't bad. They have 1 ticker for exploration but have enemies to their north and west and they don't have a lot of systems in their immediate vicinity. However, they have a number of routes to escape too much agreesion early game. Not the best position, but decent enough that most players would be ok with.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 3/5
Total: 8/10
5.(3841)
3841 has a decent position, even though they have a fam close that wraps around, they still have options. They can choose to push the wrap around family, or explore in the oppsite direction. There is another family not too far off, but if they explore well, they can probably overcome it.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 2.5/5
Total: 7.5/10
6.(3837)
First of the four player fams. The position of this family is quite favourable given the way this map shapes up. They do have enemies around them, however, they can still build quite a core before they get pushed. They also have a number of escape routes to explore. Good system density around them to make it look a lot
better than it actually is.
Fam size: 4/5
Location: 3.5/5
Total: 7.5/10
7.SEEKING PNAP (3834)
Pretty good position, a couple of families around, however, no one to really threaten them. Sparse system clusters, but with so few predators, they can protect and explore with few problems.
Fam size: 4/5
Location: 3.5/5
Total: 7.5/10
8.The four horseman
Again, another 5/5 fam but position isn't so great. They are not hemmed on all sides, and their are a number of planets easily reached. They do have an enemy close by on the wrap around, and the planet count seems to be more sparse in their immediate region
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 2/5
Total: 7/10
9.Starburst (3840)
So their position isn't very good. They have some decent amount of planets going north and east, however families very close by so it will be a tight fight. Going west and South have a severe planet problem, I think they may be fighting for much of the round for space and if they break out may get squeezed on planets.
Fam size: 5/5
Location: 2/5
Total: 7/10
10.Go Ahead and Farm Us (3838)
Position isn't bad. They have a number of families close by that can push core, so they will have to be aggressive in their exploration and protecting of cores. But they have 2 things that are going for them 1) dense system clusters and 2) close starter systems to explore. If they can get off to a good start, they could hold their own.
Fam size: 4/5
Location: 3/5
Total: 7/10
11.Harbingers Of Victory (3832)
This fam has terrible system density, but they seem to be pretty free to explore as they like as there is 1 immediate enemy, however, lots of options for exploring.
Fam size: 4/5
Location: 3/5
Total: 7/10
12. AYB (3827)
They have a 5 players in their family but a really bad map situation by being situated in the middle of the map and being hemmed in on all sides, and immediate sparse on systems in their vicinity. This fam will have to be agressive this round, and 1 major enemy in their immediate vicinity, and really many of the fams around them can push core.An uphill battle for sure.
