Starburst Round 26 - Players vs. Contenders (week 1, Y4)
Scoring explained
Some changes in the scoring:
Obviously the econ factor and attacker score have stayed in place. Map position has been replaced with Map score, which includes claimed core and spread. Activity, organisation have been included in "others" and on top of that "living up to expectations" has been included in that same category.
Wheter you are Contender/Pretender FTW/Top 5 is solely based on your score!
*************************************************************************************************
#3683, ~ THE U.S. MARINE CORPS ~
Line up: Orion (leader), DX, Random, Xenon, BlueMonkey, Bots, Pingu, Airwing
My fam!
Claiming the number one spot after a week of play in nw, ocasionally size, and most top income lists (at the time this PvC was created we had numbers 1, 2 and 8 in gc income), you can hardly say we are not living up to our contender ftw status.
With a difficult Map position we have claimed a decent core, thanks to some good diplomatic decisions and hard work from our attacker crew. We chose not to go with a pop banker (unlike some of our competitors). We'll soon know whether we made the right decision ![]()
Military score: 8/10
Economical score: 9/10
Map score: 8/10
Living up to Expectations: +1
Activity: +0
Organisation: +2
Total score: 28
CONTENDERS FTW
The Fast and The Furious (3681)
Line up: Colorado (Leader), Vicious, Flipmode, Easyway, Ragnarok, Whiteheaven, Rawr, Brett
Guess who has been hiding in here. That's right: Colorado. And so it's no surprise they've been doing this well. They are the only ones who occasionally have taken over the number one rank from The Marines - in either networth or gc income, and are keeping up just fine. They have been the science top dogs for most of the round. Mainly Colo (DAF) has been in top 3 the whole time. Which will def come in handy once he'll have to start busting portals. Resource wise they're always a bit behind, but with market lower than average, their decent cash flow makes up for this.
So.. what else? They are claiming a huge core, roughly 100 systems by the looks of it, though their spread outside of their core does need some improvement. But honestly.. I'm not worried about this so whatever: both Colo and Flipmode know their damn well what they're doing when it comes to attacking.
Military score: 8/10
Economical score: 8/10
Map score: 8/10 (would have been 9 with better spread)
Living up to Expectations: +1
Activity: +0
Organisation: +1
Total score: 26
CONTENDERS FTW
Dark Angels (3680)
Line up: ICD (leader), Pitbull, Empire, Ricking, TBO, Arby
They lost a bit of ground in comparison with 81 and 83, but ICD has assured me this is due to their camaar science build up compared to the 50% science bonus science build up. They have been getting themselves in some trouble (conflicts) too, so that surely hasn't helped their infra grow.
They have been expanding rapidly past few days and I expect them to pick a target soon. I'm not sure who they're napped to though, but given their current spread I'd say only a nap to 83 is certain.
Military score: 9/10
Economical score: 7/10
Map score: 7/10
Living up to Expectations: +0
Activity: +1
Organisation: +1
Total score: 26
CONTENDERS FTW
Rogue One (3684)
Line up: Cells (leader), Rookie, Domi, Bartholomeus, Fraggles, Swaggah
Decent line up. Like I stated in my previous PvC, they have excellent resourcers. Their bankers seem to have pulled their sh*t together too past days, claiming a 3rd spot in the overall gc rankings.
Their spread is ok I guess, but doesn't excite me. Yes, they are claiming that huge north east part of the map, and are trying to use their nap with 79 to gain some extra spread, but they'll need to get a better spread if they want to be contenders FTW!
Military score: 7/10
Economical score: 7/10
Map score: 7/10
Living up to Expectations: +1
Activity: +0
Organisation: +1
Total score: 23
PRETENDERS FTW
True identity - Fat bastards (3679)
Line up: Lightguns (leader), Cloud, Artic, Green, The Young Wolf, Winged Wolves, Venom
Finally they are upping their game. Ok, they did start with only 7 players, but several other families had only 7 or 8 active players too. So this should definetely not be an excuse if they come in a bit short.
Honestly? I expected them to do a very good ephase, which has turned out a bit different up to now. I'm sure - with the players they have - they will get econ running sooner or later.
Surprisingly they have not been trying to claim the north west of the map, which could have been such a great asset to them... If they want to claim that area, I suggest not waiting too long.
Military score: 7/10
Economical score: 8/10
Map score: 7/10
Living up to Expectations: 0 (Giving them a break for starting with less players)
Activity: +0
Organisation: +1
Total score: 23
PRETENDERS FTW
Marauders (3682)
Line up: Scorp (leader), Vampyrys, Retoricas, Bista, RisingDown, Sol , Munder, Fygaro
Kings of the South I called them in my previous PvC and predicted a decent start for them since they could keep focus on infra longer than other families, before having to defend their territory. One could argue I was right. I do predict some families moving in on them soon, because of their great map position.
Though their core and map position are good, their spread is not. Initially I gave them 7/10, but after taking a second look, I revised this.
Military score: 7/10
Econ score: 7/10
Core + spread score: 6/10
Living up to Expectations: +1
Activity: 0
Organisation: 0
Total score: 21
CONTENDERS TOP 5
Penelope Pitstops Pink Pussies (3678)
Line up: Imperialnothingness aka Suicidal (leader), Surreal, Drones
Networth wise they're a bit behind, but when taking a look at the top lists you'll see that they're actually #4 or #5 when it comes to economy. So def not doing that bad!
When taking a look at the map, it's easy to see that they're having trouble claiming a solid core, and even more trouble obtaining spread. And they'll need spread to get to a decent pcount, because their core simply is not big enough and a big part has been already filled up. Imo - if they want to change something about this, they will need to get themselves some good naps!
Military score: 6/10
Econ score: 7/10
Core + spread score: 5/10
Living up to Expectations: +1 (because of your econ)
Activity: 0
Organisation: 0
Total score: 19
PRETENDERS TOP 5
Se7en (3685)
Line up: DLL (leader), Habz, Gollum
They had good start. Which was a surprise to me, because their leader informed me there was no organisation and communication within the family right before SoR. First days they managed to hide this well, but I must say past days they have been losing ground bit by bit.
Core wise they are def not claiming the biggest core (50 sys? Wild guess). Their spread is limited too, so they really need to work on that. Maybe some good diplomacy would help? Just a tought.
Careful not to become a target guys!
Military score: 5/10
Econ score: 7/10
Core + spread score: 5/10
Living up to Expectations: +1
Activity: +0
Organisation: -1
Total score: 17
PRETENDERS TOP 5
I hoped you all enjoyed reading this second PvC. If any information is incorrect, let me know so I can edit.
