Topic: Tips and Tricks

The little things that make the difference. Feel free to add:
1: when building portals use advanced mode and select multiple planets to  built portals. You won't get charged overbuilt cost .
2: You can move a DS into a system where you own the only planet.
3: During expo phase keep daily systemlistings off all players. When they expo you can substract the lists. Remaining systems are  freshly expood and have unportalled planets to raid smile
4: In super nova,  don't use personal log,  but your forum to store information.

Re: Tips and Tricks

5: To estimate the production of your oppononent, do a vision / spy on target just before and after tick when your opponent is offline.
6: To estimate fleetsize make a list of all the NW you know of your opponent and substract that of his current NW. With multiple visions you should be able to calculate: Estimate # of buildings, science NW, planet NW. The remaining NW gives an indication of totale number of units. Note: buildings and units need upkeep, which also needs to be produced (extra NW buildings).
7: When sending 3000 bombers they will kill around 300 lasers. If you end up loosing 700 bombers to lasers, you will know your opponent has around 70 lasers left. Just sent your remaining bombers in again for another run. No need to wait for extra bombers to come in.

8: Sending one expo will cost you around:
- Without space amazement 1500 gc * number of planets you have + 1500
- Without space amazement (1500 gc * number of planets you have + 1500)* 60%

Re: Tips and Tricks

Thnx.
9: For hard ops (nukes, hypno) you need 5x more wizzies / agents than for easy ops. Just do a few easy ops to find out how much you need to jump for hard opps to succeed.

10: Inactive players will be deleted 7 days after last login. Make sure you have your expo's ready.

Re: Tips and Tricks

With bombers it's best to hedge your bets and send 11-12 bombers per laser present.  Each bomber has a 10% chance of destroying a laser, many players make the mistake of translating this to "it takes 10 bombers per laser", and end up frustrated when they don't succeed in attacking.

Re: Tips and Tricks

If you have a nice spread you can sent your DS , to a system which you own, that lies past your target.   Hit your opponent when your DS is nearest to the target system.  If attacks are succesfull you can move your DS directly into the newly acquired system.

So let's say you move your DS into a system that you only own one planet in. And then let's say someone named Art sends a fleet to your lone planet and takes it. Does your DS get destroyed?

Re: Tips and Tricks

How to: Select only specific bonus type planets (for example iron planets):

Sort by resource bonus (for example iron). Select first planet in the list + hold shift while selecting the last (iron) bonus planet.

Sidenote: I noticed Lightguns suggesting it to toggle all planets in a different thread, but this is even more interesting to toggle build specific type of planets.

Re: Tips and Tricks

1/ When doing research build ups:

* Send out eships when your pcount is low

* Do not portal up after you have taken all planets, instead go and add portals after taking over each planet you want to portal. That way you lower the costs since portal cost are highly dependent on planet count.

2/ The max income increasement of TO in CF/TO or CF/LQ banking:

Is actually 11.25% extra income per building
