Map
- I like the feel of it
- top left systems missing
- you already mentioned this is a dumbed down version to be extended on. Adding views based on fam number should be first priority.
Taskbar
- order is counter intuitive. Left to right it makes more sense to me to do home, command center, map, forum
General
- I find the new style a bit bulky compared to the clean and open spaced layout from current mobile design. Command center now takes my whole screen with text. Previously it only took half. Suggestions: A) smaller borders and less spacing B) Tile system like windows mobile and make use of icons-buttons.
Universal news
- where is it?

I quite like the feel as well. Scrolls like a map should, I can't stand scroll-as-zoom.
Top left systems is fixed.

I'm still struggling with this, but I am considering replacing the forum link with a "quick links" list that can be defined by the player. That way each player can decide which links are most useful to them and have them quickly accessible.

Icons are in the works, but outside of that it likely won't change much as the taller spacing facilitates mobile link tapping. A tile system is an interesting option, but that would mean less links would be visible on the screen at once, which is already a challenge.
I agree though it does look a little bulky and ugly. I'm exploring ways to clean it up without sacrificing the usability benefits.

Do you mean fam news? If so, that's now in the family page sub-nav. If not, could you clarify what you mean?
Great feedback. Thanks.
Universal news> yellow line at top of page showing to the galaxy how many planets I took from my victim.
System 3,1:99 still invisible in sn. Map does not show it. Quicktarget does let you enter it.
Icons take less width than text buttons. A tile menu can have tiles next to each other.
Question: I can now delete recent reports in my overview. Will they still show up in infills?
Ah... the news ticker. That is going away temporarily and will be brought back in another form. It will eventually be replaced on the home page as well.
I'll check into that invisible system, thanks.
Regarding deleting reports, that only allows you to delete them from your current page view. They will return when you refresh, and will still show up in infil. I am still deciding on whether or not that is useful.
As for icons/tiles, yes the width would allow them to "stack" horizontally but if their height grows even just a little taller than the current list item heights, the total height saving is lost and we're still dealing with not enough options showing on screen.
We could figure it out, but it involves design math that I'm not interested in doing for a style that I don't like. Nothing against Microsoft, but I don't intend to take any design cues from Windows 8. =P
Besides, a grid sidebar wouldn't allow for a natural feeling expression of hierarchy either (which we're now using for the family link, for example), unless we start doing weird stuff with the z-axis.
Any improvements that do come to the sidebar will be preserve the list format. It looks ugly now, but I'll figure something out.
Good feedback Lightguns! Agree with pretty much all of it ![]()
Additionally: There's no ' build' button behind each planet in the planets screen, meaning I either have to go to the specific planet first, or check the box and use the build menu's on the bottom. Not sure if this is on purpose or the button should be added ![]()

Agree, but now I can't seem to be able to zoom at all. Would like that functionality. And it seems I can't select two views at the same time. I'd like 'My Planets' and 'Unexplored' for example...
But I guess this will be addressed in future as this is the 'thumbed down' version.
Also before it was when you build units or building or sent fleet, in the menu when you clicked the box showing the max quantity, it would fill the max quantity in the fill-in field. That's not working now.
Good points. Zoom in/out has been added, along with an alternate nav when on the map page specifically.
Max-quantity filling should be re-added soon.

This should now work with the new map as well.
I don't like that I can't see my current resources on the top, but i do LOVE the fact that the toggle button works again!
Chat is now linked to discord, very nice!
I also wish that when you hover over the buttons on top, they tell you what they do, like on the map, its obvious for zoom in and out, but I didn't know the old IE picture is now "map"..
1 more thing..........
Can you make the text white, like as white as it shows here? It's sorta hard to view the "dull gray" text when its on a black backdrop.
The box text, like for fleet, messages, family ect.
One more thing, that domi06 noticed in chat, that I confirmed.
in IE 11 if you click the new interface you don't see any of the sidebars
I had a new message so I clicked it in the new interface, and it auto kicked me back to the old interface.
Almost sounds like it isn't compatible with IE yet.
Does the new layout have a logout button and I just can't see it?
Some fixes below, will likely require clearing cache on your browser.

Yeah =/ I haven't figured out a good solution to this yet that works on both desktop/mobile. Still thinkin on that one.

What's the old IE picture? The globe icon?

I updated it. Not quite white, but close. I also softened the borders around the sidebars which should help with the color contrast there.

Both of these have been fixed. Yeah, the first one was an IE bug. My first css bug is due to an IE incompatibility... not surprised!
Although, in fairness it's not as bad as dealing with IE used to be so I shouldn't complain too much. =P

It's to the right, it's now called "Switch Empire". This makes more sense right now if you're playing in multiple galaxies, which I eventually want to push more people towards.
Great feedback, super helpful!

:: yes, but all of them, the home icon and side bar, map.. might be to much for a phone for the hover option, but maybe just a small description on the bottom of them.

::::: Thanks! With sun glare on my monitor, it was painful:)

:::: WooHoo.. fast and easy fix! But do we call it IE or do we call it Edge?

I saw the switch empire, but it doesn't "log" me out and still shows me online. Sometimes I'd like that to not show, sometimes I like it to show, depending on what I've done prior lol.
Sorry it was all over the "map" here, each time I noticed something, I didn't want to edit and add incase you saw one and not the new update.
Ah, I see. There's no "master logout" button, but there wasn't on the old interface either. That might be worth adding though.

This is all I was meaning for a logout button. ![]()

Can this be fixed? It's actually pretty annoying haha
Yep, it's on the list. It was temporarily removed due to space constraints, but it'll find its way back somehow.
A big update just went out, including:
The overall look has been adjusted slightly, and everything should look a little cleaner and also more modular. Sections on a page now "float" freely instead of being bound to a page container. There are a few exceptions to this, but for the most part things should feel less smushed together.
Those big blocky sections are now replaced with more reasonably styled content sections.
The planet list info is now contextual, meaning you no longer see every single piece of planet info on a single line. Instead, relevant info will show up depending on how you are sorting your planet list.
For example, the default sort is by coordinates. In this view you will see building info but you will not see population info. However, if you sort by population you will now see population info but will no longer see building info.
The "build" link is always visible in any sort view.
The toggle link has been replaced with a checkbox and is now included at both the top and bottom of your planet list.
* The "click max quantity to fill" should work again with relevant text inputs.
* Time info is now only available on HQ page. It was taking up too much space having it on every single page, especially those that have sub-nav (messages, family, etc).
There are a few pages that flat out fail to load. Those are the last major things on the list before this becomes the new default after signing in.
Work will of course continue after that point, but we're close to switching over for good.
Few things I noticed today.
One, on the new interface when I click on "family" It tries to load an extension of the HQ, actually It tries to load the HQ it looks like. this is the link its trying to load
https://imperialconflict.com/v2-main.ph … ListGroup1
Also is it possible to see "New Messages" everyplace, not just HQ? I missed a lot of important messages because I don't check the HQ for new messages. We used to thing on top that told us when you had a new message, just wondering if we could implement something like that, or even on the side.. Pretty much anyplace so you would notice the message until it was checked.
But, other then that.. so far... Good work Pie!
Everything appears to be coming along as best as to be expected!
I just checked on phone and it opens an overview, ect.
I dont believe it did that on pc, but i could be wrong!

As I do like the sort button for planets, I HATE that i can't tell if I'm building on ob% planet's with or without a portal.
I think it should always show a portal or no portal icon.
Because this also wouldnt show any cpff portals or anything, unless you sort by portal, but then you cant see the ob%
Ok, i lied.. I completly HATE the planet page, not seeing lasers per planet, with portals, with ob cost is bad in my opinion.
I also dont like when you mass build, before it would show "not enough cash to build bla bla"
Now it shows that for EACH planet...
Can we please make this, if its not enough for all planets. Show just one image not all? I mean it isnt bad now, but if you have 100-300 planets.. EWW
Great point, I hadn't considered error messages for 100s of planets haha.
Regarding the new planet view, I'm working on expanding the amount of visible data depending on your screen's width. So the new sort thing would be the "skinny version" page, and rotating your device into landscape or using desktop would give you more info at a glance. This already happens to some degree on the existing mobile design: it doesn't show your OB%/max pop/resource bonuses for example.
Hoping to have a fix up soon.
