Topic: Map Shrink

I was pondering an idea of, what if at BOR the map was HUGE "space in between" and as the round got closer and closer to EOR the space between would vanish,

So system A to B at BOR would be 10 ticks
by the time of the EOR A to B could be 1 tick away.

[13:43] <@RisingDown> never thought i'd say it, but TBO actually did something useful.
[13:43] <@arsy> dont let him see you say that
[13:43] <@RisingDown> oh shit

Re: Map Shrink

Probably an headache to implement.
And one of the great things of IC: the map, becomes quite a chaotic thing... on the one hand it will be difficult to do all the tact & strat thoughts and acts that come from looking on the map, your position and of your possible targets... on the other hands with a changing map you can or rather must do that every few days again with a new perspective onto a new situation, mmmh.

And it might be an answere to the problems of early devasting raids as described here by DustyAladdin

If it's not too much an headach to implement it might be worth a try but I'd recommend a special galaxy for that. Probably quite fun.

Just vary race speed based on the tick you are in. SoR 10% speed,  EoR it it hits 100%
