Topic: Family Pic

I think we should be able to post larger pictures as our Family pic. The size limit should be twice what it currently is. The Star Trek theme in Supernova is a prime example of this. You put up a nice picture of a star-ship or any of the other related Star Trek photos and images available and they are hard to see, and appreciate, at the current max size allowed.

Even a 50% increase in the allowed size would be a nice improvement.

I agree with cloud, and with a phone the larger it is, the worse it is.

A width limit is necessary, especially for mobile devices.  This prevents people from having to scroll sideways.

A height limit is less necessary, but is still going to be capped to prevent overly tall images from obscuring actual family information.

The new layout does this via an image aspect ratio as opposed to a hard pixel limit.  What that means is that all family pictures will end up being the same size, despite the original image.

The downside is that super nice images, like you describe, won't be able to be seen in their full glory.  The upside though is that the game looks more consistent across different families' pages.  It's worth the tradeoff imo.

Yes, I did notice today that the size works out perfectly for my phone.

Never hurts to ask!  Interestingly, the new layout should scale that image up so it may solve the problem anyway.
