Topic: New galaxy

Hello, I just came back to IC this round after a long break. The main thing I have found is that even though IC is more user-friendly with the changes on mobile, people are not as active as they were (probably just feels that way because of less players).

For somebody like myself who can check from my phone nearly every tick, it gets very very boring just waiting around. I imagine many people feel the same way.

My only idea would be to add more galaxies for users to play in concurrently so that they have more to do. Ideally, a more fast paced galaxy would be best in my opinion.

Thoughts?

A new galaxy that you grow with the resources you have at the end of each round from the other galaxy you play in.
    The more galaxy you play in and the more active you are in the other galaxy the more you have to work with in this new galaxy.

Going off that first post: Perhaps, a galaxy where ticks go by much faster, and just extend the duration of the round accordingly (in terms of in-game years/weeks) but still lasting a month in real-time.

It would certainly help with creating a faster pace and having something to do more often.

For example when you're waiting around to amass x resources for a jump can take almost a whole day or so depending on your situation and your goal. But if ticks went by faster, attacking, defending, and jumping would be much more exciting instead of, "Okay I just started X. I guess I'll have to check-in in a few hours before bed to see how that's going..."

Maybe ticks of 30min? 15min? 10min? Whatever would be most fitting.

I think that would be neat experiment.

I didn't say to speed up ticks, I said speed up the pace! Give us a 2-3 week round that we can play in also. Starting with more resources and ships or something to keep people busy during boring times in the main galaxy. Maybe alternate between hardcore and a round with limited attacking so attackers can have fun and infra whores can test stuff out.

All I'm trying to say is that this game has much fewer active players than it did years ago and that is making it get boring for people. Something needs to be added to keep people from getting bored.

Haha, yeah I was going to say the main reason for not speeding up the ticks is because it will only favour the more active families.

Yes, you'd have to make all the galaxies the same, which wouldn't be a big issue (imo), the fact that only the real active families would benefit is and will always be the issue.

To speed things up, instead of just your home planet, have the system assigned to you already and you have all the planets under your control at the start. The expos you have on hand could immediately be used for spread instead of infra. Hard code that Galaxy have those planets built to 50% size with a standard mix of buildings. That way everybody starts with the same Eco plus their starting resources. Speeds the game up by at least 3-5 days that way.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

See? Arby with constructive comments! This is the sort of thing I was talking about rather than speeding up ticks.

I like this idea if it is possible to code a galaxy like this.

lol, you mean ideas for a new galaxy? yep that sounds good, nothing new though as the ideas thread is full of "ideas for a new galaxy", the issue here is three galaxies running at the same time is it not? isn't that why you posted this? There simply is not enough players to have three running concurrently.

There is not enough to do to keep myself entertained with this game. Especially since there is not the huge community anymore.

I imagine some other players feel the same way so I'm trying to come up with ideas for more things to do.

lmao, oh there are other players that feel exactly the same way, have felt that way for YEARS, but the problem is the player base is just too small, we fought these battles a long time ago when we had at least 10x the player base we have now, it didn't work then because it waters down the competition. We've been down this road several times, we've even been restricted to play in one galaxy (Pinwheel) or the other (Milky Way) and that still didn't work lol, they even took Pinwheel away to try force everyone to at least play in just one galaxy, look how that's turned out lol.

The best way to "speed up the game" is to up the production of buildings i.e. Mining Facilities (Oct and Endu as well), now produce 5 or 10 iron per building etc not 1 per building, CFs should produce 100gold per tick not the "10" that it does now etc, etc, meh, just another idea that will fall by the way-side like they always have.

I have an Idea of one more galaxy.

To my mind we need galaxy for complete beginners like Supernova with max 30players and map 40x40. Main race Qesians.

New galaxy for more active ones with hardcore moral but still one man per fam. Any rase.

Keep the same starburst for playing in team.

Keep sagy ax hard core team based galaxy.

Max what player can go for 2 galaxies.

there are 3 gals running right now, it's not about the amount but the style of play in each one, they don't have to be big gals, just different, small fams, massive starting res, hc rules, limited races, there are many options.
