Topic: Different speed galaxies

Is it possible to make galxies with different speeds?   

* 5 minute ticks in a galaxy for people with no real life, or for special event rounds. (noticed a discussion about this in discord chat also)

* 30 minute ticks in a galaxy for those active and very competive players. (i like to think that could make rounds shorter by half also, so that new players don't have to wait to long to join the next round)

* 1 hr or more ticks in a galaxy for people who like the slow pace...

Very possible, and high on my list.

The idea is to make galaxies configurable and give players options.  "Classic" IC will always be 1-hour ticks but we can experiment with different tick speeds to see what players like best.

I intend to open up 5-minute-tick "lightning rounds" for special events as you mentioned, or even regularly occurring weekend competitions.

The details and work involved still need to be figured out, but it is definitely in the plans.

A short round (6 weeks) takes 1008 ticks. At 5 min it would take 84 hours. No sleep for 3,5 days.....


I like the idea though. King of the hill style Tri would be fun to have at lightingguns speed.
