Worth noting is that this isn't outright replacing IRC.  IRC is still available and won't be going anywhere, especially for fam chat.  However, Discord is a very good option for those who don't go onto IRC anymore for whatever reason.

You have to click the link first in order to join the chat. Then IC's chat server will be added to your account. It's not possible for you to search for specific chat, unlike IRC.

We will put out a guide at some point but after testing it so far it is superior to irc and can be used for fam chats...

Hmm ok thanks.  I got into the server i believe.  Do we have a chat list yet that people hang out in or are they still being set up and not actively used yet
