We continue to have undefined rules, like "no farming". You can NOT have a game with rules that aren't there. There are no rules against farming. And yet the mods continue to allow players to say, "hey, no farming" as if that's a rule.
No one is interested in the game, because no one knows the rules.
No the players make a game.
And if players keep farming others, those other players will simply leave the game which results in you having less and less opponents to play against (farm).

That's my point. The lack of written rules causes a lot of confusion, and it causes players to quit.
I'm not talking about whether farming should be allowed. I'm talking about writing out concrete rules, so that people know what the rules are.
Why can't we have written rules. What's wrong with a rule that actually tells you when you can attack, and when you can't attack.
Or.
If your not willing to make it a rule, then why are people expected to follow the rule?
I'm not talking about what the rules should be. I don't care if we allow farming or not. I'm talking about have concrete written rules that can be followed.
I don't know what the rule is. I've been playing here, on and off, for over ten years. And as far as I can see, no one know what the rules are.
What are the rules? And why is that such a strange question for me to ask? I think it's basic game design.
Describe as a lack of rules, or describe as people being jerks, or describe it as a "lack of honor" ( I don't know what that means either). The fact is, people are leaving, and the reason is because the rules aren't clear.
The main reason I don't play any more, I don't want to argue with someone about the rules. I"m not going to play until I know what the rules are. It's not worth it. The argument over rules that don't exist just isn't worth it. It takes all the fun out of it.
Can I attack? I don't know. Because I need to follow this imaginary set of rules, that aren't written down, and no one knows. Of course that leads to argument. In fact, how could it not lead to arguments.
And those arguments take all the fun out of the game. For both the attacker and the one losing planets.
I won't be playing until I know the rule, and everyone else knows the rules. Until them, it's not really a game.
Because you cant make a rule out of it as long as the game coding allows it to happen.
Same as in society you dont want to make a rule for every single thing, thats where our standards and values kick in.
It's basically allowed to cut the line at your local bakery, but you're a dickhead if you do.
Same goes for farming in this game
What is wrong with having written rules?
In fact, right now I would be happy with ANY attempt for someone in charge to write ANY kind of rule on farming. ANYTHING.
I just want to know what the rule is.
There is no rule. Farm to your hearts content, the farmed family will just complain about it and some may quit. The whole point is to attack other families and take their planets, the clue is in the name of game. Otherwise it would be called Imperial Building. Most fams are going to pick a target that they believe they will be able to take planets off, they will want to hit them hard enough to make the other family not want to fight back. Farming is relative depending on where you are in the situation.
Funny how a retired player is actually still on the forum with the people he dislikes (which caused him to retire in the first place)
Anti farming is pretty much formalised with new morale rules. Now we complain it overpowers small Fams 
You've all missed the point.
Some people believe there's a rule against farming. Some people think there's no rule against farming. Some people think it's about "honor".
We're not all together on this. We need someone who's in charge to come forward and state what the rule is.
I've even straight out asked (in another thread) what the rule is. No one seems to have an answer.
I'm not talking about what the rules should be. I'm just pointing out that there's a lot of confusion, and this confusion is what causing a lot of problems, including unnecessary arguments, and people leaving the game.
We need clear rules, clear leadership, and clear guidance. We need the people in charge to step forward and set out what the rules are.
If farming is allowed, then good. Then a mod can come here and say that. If farming isn't allowed, then a mod can say that too.
I'm using farming as an example. This community has created a lot of made up rules, and the mods have done nothing to stop it.
As long as we have rules that are unclear, we will continue to have arguments, and to have people get upset and leave.

There is no rule against farming hence it is not defined.
Many players believe kicking a player/family too much while down is bad sportmanship.
If it helps, think of it like kids soccer. If a team is winning 8-0, it is considered bad form for the winning team to keep there best players on the field. It is considered bad form if the teams who is winning coach complains about a refs call that goes against them. It is bad form for the winning team to celebrate if they score another goal and make it 9-0. Its bad form if.... I think you get the picture - a coach may choose to do some/all/none/or different actions then described above. Some coaches might start doing them when the score is 5-0, others might wait til 9-0.
Again, there is no rule here that is unclear - because there is no rule. People just choose to be arses or they choose to show good sportmanship.

The main reason for benching the best players is to not risk any more injuries.
Letting bench players play is also good for their morale and gives them a chance to show their capabilities.
There is no such thing as keeping your best players benched out of pitty.

I quit because the rounds are boring. SN is way to long and SB doesnt have enough people to be competetive and keep me focussed.

I did say 'kids' soccer LG. And no one benches an 8 year old in rec league soccer because they fear a career ending injury

Might as well post this here, so everybody is on the up & up. Seems to be on topic. And maybe this can fuel a discussion that can lead to a solution for something that has corrupted the game for many of rounds.

Well, you only heard one half of the story. I guess Tymo forgot to mention that the tick he cleared me (1 planet/portal rest unexplored), the fam near his HB, whom he had pnapped, immediately explored that entire system, seeing his ETA he could only have send them 1 tick after Tymo send his 2 ticker. Seeing I been stealing his neighbors spread expo's I doubt he with a clear mind explored a system he knew I was portalled, since it was originally has planet (long enough ago to be sure its portal is up). Now I may be a stoner and miss some small things now and than. But you and I both know what happened there.
Yet I told im honestly, that even though the check relations opps doesn't show, that I have 4 pnaps with ppl I know, I can trust enough on their word. He thinks it is for planet passing or something idk. I never been the kinda guy to give away planets.
So seeing this I assume Tymo been sending everybody (he knows) msgs screaming that. I am in no way denying my 'recent reports', but hypothetically speaking, even a player who maybe a long time ago got blocked once for babysitting, never ventured near the grey area, besides a 'belated nap payment' having checked with mods before it happened to see if it was within the borders. Having seen multiple ppl cheat, report it to the mods, the times I even got an answer, was, nothing we can find ingame. Too bad, move a long. At some point, everybody can break morally, in a way.
And now Tymo found someone else, I am assuming it is you seeing the online times and knowing still where u r from. To double team me. Not to mention I left that partner from Tymo alone, when he was fighting someone I had a PNAP with. Some perspective from my side (being code in SN)
- I don't know Knox (not even playing SB currently )
- I never asked you to stay on the sidelines in my battle with empty. Also, you weren't Portalled yet. I let you be for morale reasons.
-The resulting multiple systems you have inside my space is reason enough to fight you.
- There is no communication between me and tymo to hit you.
- I had a in-game nap pending. Signing it would have prevented this situation.
On topic regarding rules
- I see no reason for a rule preventing you to hit me during that battle with empty.
- I see no reason for a rule preventing me to hit you because you prefer an other battle. If you play to secure a big spread than you risk fighting multiple fights at the same time.

If the mods don't block Tymo for the profanities and insults he send me in Supernova, seeing mods did block Scorp for being a real American from Texas. Than I think IC still has a double standard. The mods that remain are a selective group who seem too choose too whom the rules do and do not apply. Afaik mods have investigated me, I am not blocked, therefore....?
Now he is posting recent reports in Uni News. He has been sending people messages saying I am a cheat, in a way that is masking too call for an IA against me, which worked. I will post this here, since neither KT nor FD respond to forum messages. (not to mention a few rounds back when GxReborn told his fam to send him 24 ticks of aid, if ppl wouldn't, he would kill you off. The first msg KT send back was appalling, she probably realized that too and send another one 4h later.

This double standard has been in IC for ages, that has been the reason I got kicked out the IC fmod/mod team, probably also the reason why the mod team doesn't allow IC Death on the mod team, because having someone who knows the game in and out, someone who played with almost everybody, someome who is super active and offered himself plenty of times to become a mod... yet he gets putt off.
I got kicked out of the mod team, because I didn't cover for the mods who selectively helped friends and ignored others. Some things never change I guess, unless the rules have changed and it says rules apply always, unless it is against someone who the mods don't like.
I think I will stick around till there are only a handful players left.

Its honorable not to kick a downed opponent.
Leaving the able live and getting to live in the same position is usualy how that works.
Smaller families always seem to use the under card excuse to much. Sometimes being smaller is better and the new morale systems applies to that assumption.
This is a strategy game based on conflict that begs begs adaptibility be applied on the upper or under cars.
You shouldn't feel like your on the up when your obvously bigger.... all the time!
