Had an idea what the difference in morale was, but 1% morale takes on the 1st family by the 2nd family, excluding the effect of morale planets, well that's just plain stupid. We went from pure capitalism to communism. Okay bad analogy but I'm drunk. Thing is, it feels like a right wing vs left wing discussion, socialist vs republican. 'Do we reward the ones doing their best and investing well' or 'do we, pretty much, give EVERYONE FREE [LOVEABLE HUGGABLE] PLANETS WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO BUST THEIR ASSES OFF'. /rant
Disclaimer: I was personally on the wrong end of the system/galaxy and may or may not be subjective in relation to getting raped without lube, in terms of starship thingies.
yeah, like come on. Nr 1 fam fights nr 2 fam. Nr one fam can do 5 attacks and nr 2 fam can hit bankers back 100 times for each attacker.

Yeah it would seem the best plan is to join a family.
Don't build a single thing for about 6 weeks, don't even be active.
Log in the last two weeks and just preform 100 attacks every 3 or 4 ticks.
Compared to the 1 attack back the other family gets.
Sadly it would seem the morale rules have wrecked the game for a lot of vets.
I can only hope those rules change

well yesterday 67 attackers weren't even in the 35% range of 66. so before you all would be bitching about the 35% rule and not being able to attack and 67 running your bankers while you sit on big fleet.
You don't want to lose so much moral - match up your attackers. we've got 7 days left kill your infra. kill your popper.
If farming was such a big problem, why didn't they just go for the easier solution of upping the % rule when a planet gets blown? (and add another % rule for fam vs fam attacking)
People farm to get more planets, if they'd blow them up and have to explore them, there's no point for them to farm, is there? Imo that would have avoided all this new moral BS where you can't retake your own lost planets when a smaller fam/player attacks you.

and still i am losing 10% morale while war is declared and my enemie is 4,3 mil and i am 6,5 mil but he has 3 times my planet count...
we can't even do 1/3 of the retakes we should do as we need to clear portals first and they keep on taking banker planets cause we can't do it fast enough. Great game this is.... jeez

Pop bankers are useless and blowing all infra cause you need to be able attack is just plain stupid, as you need cash to pay upkeep etc.
Also how can a game be won by people that don't play? I mean come on, this game has always been about growing and attacking, now it's just about not doing anything all day and make sure you are small enough so that people can't do retakes...
This is bullshit and you all know it. But hey, i don't care, i am gonna leave, and you can play imperial infra with the 5 players that are left after this round.
I always enjoyed playing a round every year. Maybe it's a good thing, at least i won't waste any more of my time on this game
well the fam with the most planets attacked the most i can almost bet that we just weren't afraid of losing infra or nw lead at start

I think it is hilarious to think we are going to interfere with anything. Our tiny family didnt have to cancel anything with 67, it didn't exist. I did ask our leader to cancel our NAP with 66 mainly because it makes no sense to have for either family. If I am stupid enough to jump my fleet and take on 66.. it will be to take a stupid 12 - 15 planets because of the new morale..Plus I am man enough to wait for you guys to stop your bickering... I will say however, I am in a great position to take anyone who explores into the last area with free planets, with very little ramifications.. hahahaha!

Personally i dont ever think the tactic for the top family to have to destroy its own infra to drop the ranks to fight other families should ever be considered a good fix to the morale mechanic. The top family shouldnt have to penalise itself to be able to stay competitive, that is pure nonsense.
yea its ridiculous. i've been on both sides of it and it just isn't fun either way.. On the losing end, you are just helpless, not a thing you can do unless you wipe out everything you've built which makes no sense. On the other end you just destroy bankers at 1% morale an attack, no challenge, still not fun but with these rules its what you have to do... And almost forgot if it is a core system, a whopping 2%!!!

Pop bankers are now expected to kill their population before war. This is now an expected tactic in IC. Speaks volumes imo. War is starting, blow up everything you don't need... such an absurd mechanic.

first of all.. i wasn't the leader at the start of the round.. i was the only one that stayed after 1 day..
second of all.. about 30 people have joined the fam in the meanwhile.. everybody went inactive so they could be killed off and join a bigger fam, while i even asked everybody that joined to message me if they wanted to play in this fam and get a decent game going on.
So after 6-7 weeks i'm finally in a spot i can make some attacks and now i'm not allowed cause of what?
you all are 100 times bigger then me as a family and you cant even manage to get your bankers a propper defense.
not a single planet is lasered and even with 500k ground i can take every single planet..
dont come bitching at me for having my round ruined aswell and trying to make the most out of it.

Yeah is totally fantastic to see a NEW PLAYER getting the amazing benefit from this morale system and ruining our war all due to the morale system, NOT skill on his behalf just 1% attacks.
