Ending: Wednesday, Mar 9
This is NOT an IA round for Supernova

whats up with the gal sizes  ???
9-10-11-12-13 planets per system???

yeah, yeah, yeah, your the best in the game!
But have you played against " Chuck Norris ! "

Re: SuperNova

Interesting. Lets assume an average system size of 11 and 30 active players, than we will have on avarage 658*11/30 = 241 planets per player. In 8 weeks you can explore 450 planets. There will be conflict in this round smile

Re: SuperNova

looks like i can't stack all my ships this round. Was planning on only exploring the start ships and see how much i could attack

Re: SuperNova

How much is the time needed for cores to settle? Last round is was set too short.

Re: SuperNova

Be nice if we had some input from an mod on this, but then again that would probly be asking too much.

yeah, yeah, yeah, your the best in the game!
But have you played against " Chuck Norris ! "

Re: SuperNova

We had devs set it up so we can have more control over over the # of planets in each system, that way we can still have enough systems that travel times are quick but there are less available planets.  We can decrease it a bit more next round if needed, but I didn't want to set it on the lowest setting yet.

Cores should be back to normal, last round there was a hiccup as the devs were trying to set up the core system in SB using the same base mechanic and from what I understand a button was pushed that shouldn't have been pushed.

Supernova 19
Playas having pipe-dreams
The hour's approaching
to eat' em up like ice-cream.

You scream,
but nobody hears you in space.
Here take these Figs-
I'mma shove' em all up in your face.

Plus I got Bombers prime- to give yo azz a good time.
Know it's true, not just because this is a good rhyme-
But also because I'm stating now- I'm here to get mine.
I push the button- no frontin'- I'm out to get nine.

Now fast approaches the Tick.
In One More Hour- I'mma start to make you players SICK!

Re: SuperNova

how do you get the morale.....

Re: SuperNova

Only attacked players that cost lees than 9 morale.

18*9=162 morale needed
In 52 ticks you  regenerate at last 260 morale.

Re: SuperNova

I am not so sure the smaller systems worked out as intended:
- Late joiners are locked to hs
- Size gets won by the one that explores deteled players first
- Less conflict because it became harder gain position

Re: SuperNova

"- Size gets won by the one that explores deteled players first"

One can be in the top 10 in size without attacking anyone except those empires which attack, and only exploring a few planets from those who deleted.  Permanent naps help.  So much productivity is used up in attacks...  The previous two rounds Mango came in first in NW without ever attacking another empire.  This round Mango was attacked by NoMercy, 2023, a few times, but with sufficient defense and counterattacking NoMercy decided attacking Mango was not worth it.  Mango did take two planets from NoMercy which were captured in his systems and one which was explored in a system of his after retaking a couple of planets from NoMercy.

Which other empires in the top 10 in size did not explore a lot of planets made available by deletion of empires, and which did not capture many planets from other empires?

Re: SuperNova

I am #9 in size and i have not explored since systems filled up. I have mostly played defensively, pretty much only attacking when people explore into my systems and some retal.

I think people have too much fleet to really be able to gain a lot from attacking now anyway.

Re: SuperNova

The race needs 300% speed then there would be more attacking. and then there is morale....

Re: SuperNova

One difficulty is finding the proper balance between enough attacking and too much attacking.

Greater speed is good for those who don't have enough time to wait for fleets to arrive and want to attack more.

Too much attacking results in some people not returning to the game, or deleting and not returning to the game.

Fewer players results fewer empires to attack.

Re: SuperNova

Could decreasing the maximum number of planets which can be lost by an empire in a given period of time decrease the rate at which people get too discouraged to continue playing?

Having these smaller systems may be a way to decrease the rate at which planets can be lost.  I have no idea if the data is available for a study of the effect.  It may be that just one round with the smaller systems is insufficient to come to a definite conclusion.

If there are twice as many systems in the same size galaxy, then that effectively cuts in half the time on average required to reach the next system.
