there used to be a system for players that just want to infra I think it was called virgo...

as to the old days...there were more than 8 families back in the day ..when a top 5 fam would take from the bottom 20-25 that's farming

when you start off equal and someone over powers you its not farming its war...

I stayed small on purpose, and Colo jumped fleet to 3x my size. We were even on planets...

Morale system is definitely flawed. No way in hell my attacks should cost me 14% morale every hit, and he can just eat my bankers up by 20 attacks to my 7 retakes. That's a -13 attack differential, which is ludicrous.

Also, the morale difference between a 200k nw player and a 76k networth player should NOT be 92% per attack. That is also insanity.


I understand the reasoning behind the change, and it's a good move in the right direction but it definitely needs more work. Tie morale loss to Attack bonus or something. Limiting attacks by morale in a CONFLICT game is the opposite of what we want to do.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Thats what i said in the morale overhaul discussion forum
morale loss and attacking bonus should be working together
someone with 50% attacking bonus, will have 50% less morale loss then someone with 0% attacking bonus

why keep punnishing the active bankers exceed, it would be better to give people with no attack bonus that morale discount so they can do retakes, that way the attacker can focus on the real targets. if u would give attackers less morale loss, they only can rape other bankers more without them being able to defend themselves.

the morale rules r better just not properly fine tuned atm. small attackers are extremely powerfull with these rules they can explore 8 a day and the whole fam is out of morale.

It's not country music what I am hearing. But seeing the moral % players are posting here and knowing the % I see.. the current moral formula definitely needs more tweaking.

If you wanna give bankers better attacking bonusses and lots less morale  to lose then every attacker should change its race to banker ?? might as well stop the races and make everyone qezians then..

Its been some time now since the morale overhaul has been done, sadly enough we won't get the complete formula so we could tweak it ourselves or add something more.
I can't see why this should be a secret, when you wanna send fleet you see how much morale you will loose anyway...

one last time perhaps:  mods, give us the formula... please ?

i didnt say bankers need better attack bonus, the attack bonus and races r fine as they are.
a banker with unlimited morale stil wouldnt be able to break an attackers portal so it wouldnt hurt to lower morale costs for bankers however they would be able to do the retakes needed to keep their core clear.

Example:
18 completely obliterated 23's pop banker, which resulted in about a 15% nw drop for the family.  This put 18 at a nice income advantage, but also increases the morale it takes them to attack. 

I like that actions have consequences outside of "haha, I knocked him down to 5% of his pop"

morale was allrdy an issue cuz of colo being 20 size. and their small attacker less then 100k nw.
15% more or less nw of the total fam is neglectable in such case. (colo had 1/4 of their fams nw on himself all fleet/rc yet still costed me 20 morale per retake simply cuz i had 6 times his planet ammount amd same nw)

and ofcourse people cannot give anny usefull imformation then 'this morale system sucks', since we cant see the frikkin morale formula.

You could explain why it sucks!  What would you like to see happen differently?

15% total fam nw loss is never...neglectable... as the family nw is weighted more heavily than individual player values. 

This solution was an attempt to fix the complaints by players that big families had too much of an advantage and would just farm small families to hell.... in fact... Complaints against Colo were the last straw in deciding that a change needed to be made (a few rounds ago he lead the most ridiculous example of n00b farming I can remember)

Well as being in the number 1 fam nw wise the last 2 rounds it makes me never want to have a pop banker in my fam so i think this will slowly kill the pop banker out of the game. I really have no idea how to fix the problem, i know last round my fam 1686 did no farming we warred the second place families 3 times. I think people need to be more honorable in this game last round the second to last place family farmed a family for atleast 500 to 600 planets getting them a second place finish so we saw the morale system not work that way cause i know rev and buds family tried to war them but being second in nw could only do a couple attacks to thier attackers. We need to find a balance or we need to go back to the old way cause only being able to do a couple attacks to an attacker really makes me never want to attack again
