Re: Starburst Round 16

Thing is we all would have given you a fair war if that's what you wanted.

If someone does something shady and you do the same its just a couple pigs rolling around in mud. At the end of it you guys in 01 are pigs also. Except last round it was colo taking a few planets last few ticks  this rounds its you losers taking down a fam

I'm still out retaking because I really don't care. But don't try to brush your dishonourable actions off as glorious or retribution for IC your nothing special you dedicated a round napping the gal and piggybacking off us to get us last two days and laugh about it.

Re: Starburst Round 16

first time reading uni for the round, took me a while to get through.

all this talk of honour, i came back this round when i heard it was a chaos round and i came into the round taking the term literally, i have worked hard with dodgy deals and diplo with every fam in the gal with the intention of trying to create as much chaos as possible, not trying to sound like a cocky douche but i had a hand in almost every fight that took place in the gal, i used people against other people trying to get everyone fighting and i believe in that endeavour i was successful.

Most of the moaning about us hitting 96... but we basically did the same thing to 02 who we were also allied to yet do you see them moaning about it? they took it in stride and fought back, having some fun fighting in the process, i have no problem admitting my dishonesty and dirty play this round, i have always been an honourable player in the past but it was a chaos round.

as for all the revenge talk, these wars were my decision, i did not do it out of any personal vendetta or act of revenge, i did it with chaos in mind, i like ICD and Colo, i get along with them great and think they are good guys, nothing personal.

why do you think i bought IC?

Re: Starburst Round 16

And it's done! This was a great round. So much fun smile

Thanks to all for playing, especially my fam members for making it from bottom of the charts to nr 2 wink and random, for not killing us off 5 days in the round.

Tomorrow I'll bother posting a round report.
Because c'mon: this was chaos, and there's not one fam I didn't talk to. Well. Apart from the piranhas don't ask me why yikes

Greets and thanks for the round,

Yeah this round was fun:) because of morale issues it wasnt always easy to fight.. But still we had nice wars. I was in 02 and after we got hit and got behind the morale issue was solved and round got funnier for me though:)

Yup. Interesting end results....

One life to live in is all that a person needs. When traveling down a road looking for the ascension to greater things, all that really matters is the way you got to the end, when you reach your final destination did you help or hurt more?

Re: Starburst Round 16

Hey! I don't think we ended up last. Even with our midround collapse.

Re: Starburst Round 16

Well good stuff 99'!
We came back from it and regained our step. Wooot!

Sor war with 01', explo phase war 02', border r skirmishes 98'/01/97' until IA's or naps were situated.
02' had us on the ropes.

Our real leader went down early too medical emergency. So we sort of floated it around. But amazing finish. Great job!

Lol we never traded blows with you.... the odd planet.... and Ender we finished 4th or 3rd depending on my nw on last tick? Not bad to say we was a 4 man team with a lot of inactive members! Bit of luck on our side with most miss timing the jumps though haha.

Huh? Which family were you? 99' had a little early action. Removed 98' & 97' for lot of gains in spread. 01' & 02' more stubborn. Well thats right cleared 01' a little but when the got in lead asked for peace. It was 02' & 03' we fought uphill. But l8r napped to achieve such a stable/strong finish.

Why do u keep calling it a chaos round when it wasn't

Size: 100x100 (last round 160x160)
Systems: 699 (697 last round)
Families: 8 (8)
Family size: is now 11 started with 7 (8)

Max allies: 0 (same)
Length: 4 weeks (4 weeks)
Market:  2 days
Offensive Operations: 2 days (was 7 days)

Morale Overhaul
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for one of the biggest changes since fleet readiness was introduced (since renamed morale). We listened to what we were told, the morale formula hasn't been working and the small player hasn't been adequately protected. As a result we've entirely scrapped the morale formula and started from scratch.
No longer will there be any 40% rule or any sort of family protecting. Instead the new enhanced morale formula is designed to make these attacks possible but extremely costly on morale. Not only will size influence morale loss, but relative family and player networth will be taken into account.
Due to the removal of the family protection rules the sentinel tag will no longer be required. The new morale formula is designed to allow for these attacks to protect your core, but at the same time you will rapidly run out of morale.
Special Operations Overhaul
Simultaneously we will be implementing a new mechanic for Special Operations.  We're removing the ops limit.  Instead, special operations will cost morale, similar to attacks.
The formula used will be similar to the new morale formula, and obviously as this is a brand new concept will be subject to changes as needed.
Summary
The old morale rules will no longer apply.
The old family protection rules will no longer apply.
The sentinel tag has been removed.
The new morale formula allows attacks on anyone as long as the attack will not result in a negative morale.
The new morale formula takes relative family nw and player nw into account.
Special Operations will now require morale instead of the arbitrary limit of 1 op regenerated per tick.
Warcry is temporarily disabled.
The new morale formula may be further altered after the round, depending on feedback. Thanks for your patience and good luck everyone.
We have made this 4 weeks but if things look good we will lengthen it. This will be a testing round.
~~Lemming of leather and lollipops~~

Right, so what are we waiting for?  Can we get this going?  Any other feedback?

yeah, yeah, yeah, your the best in the game!

And I told you, I was really scared of Artic. I didn't clear you out of respect, not because I was scared of your nukes lol. I was the only attacker in the family. Not much you could have done to hurt me. 02 kept our bankers opped and I still fought them and rebuilt fleet without problems. Only thing that held me back this round was that damn morale change. 15-30 morale per hit on other like size attackers was dumb.

Re: Starburst Round 16

not sure if it was the new morale system or not but I felt that there was a lot of parity in the planet numbers and the attacks were not as overwhelming to a family as in the past.....bounce back seemed to happen faster....paying morale for ops was a good inclusion I believe as well.

re this past round

fam 99 - water wolf

family was pretty much dysfunctional with different strategies being followed by different players and not many on same page...took almost 3/4 of the round to get some sense of flow going, inactivity also played a major stumbling block.  in past rounds (why I think morale system worked) we would have been reduced to 2-300 planets and festered at the bottom of the rankings all round.

We did not do a lot of attacking other then clearing systems of newly explored planets and maybe a couple of attempts to fend of other family attacks....so not hawkish in any way...

regarding controversy of late hits by allies

had same option to hit 97....but didn't due to what line I would of crossed by doing so.....questions of trust and honesty between players and I know they put as much time into game as me, so why would I want to leave them with such a bad taste in their mouth or feeling about the game....when I want them back to play again......so no I don't understand jumping your allies at the end of any round, even if you want to call it chaos.....UNLESS agree to by both parties but then...it's not jumping your allies.....its having fun........

Re: Starburst Round 16

it was not part of the main post,  why did it take him an hr to decide for a chaos round, but still all in all you are a dishonourable player and will always be one.

Your excuse is still lame, and if I remember correctly you had our enemie in most of the systems that our small attacker expoed into. And u let them expo their knowing that we would send an attacker into those systems to clear him, or to set up position to clear close smaller attacker they had close by.

YouR lame excuse of what Colorado would have done is pointless,
After all, would we not have cleared your attacker from our core first, and with the amount of agents/wizards you had you would have seen that, but no you had to be the DW, AND ATTACK AN ALLIE.

And being a mod, your actions are/where dishonourable, And reprehensibleble, and show a complete lack of respect for the game, and it's players, and should have your mod tag removed on grounds of trying to ruin the game, rather than trying to promote it.
It's your action that have cause ppl to leave the game, just another want to be
Grow up, and except the fact of what you have done!

And in cas you are not sure what reprehensible means

rep·re·hen·si·ble
ˌreprəˈhensəb(ə)l/
adjective
deserving censure or condemnation.
"his complacency and reprehensible laxity"
synonyms:    deplorable, disgraceful, discreditable, despicable, blameworthy, culpable, wrong, bad, shameful, dishonorable, objectionable, opprobrious, repugnant, inexcusable, unforgivable, indefensible, unjustifiable; More
