So now that Greece voted no on austerity, is the Euro going to fall apart?
Or perhaps more simply, why should I care?

None of the above. Varoufakis resigned which opens up the way new negotions. Italy and greece should never have been in the euro in the first place. Would be beter for everyone if they go back tot their own currency.
Now that gay marriage has become popular I think that the demand for Greece (grease) would be at an all time high ![]()
"So now that Greece voted no on austerity, is the Euro going to fall apart?"
Whether Greece stays in or out the euro-zone doesn't really matter. Its economy is far to small. Its something else entirely if other countries follow but I don't see that happening any time soon.
"Or perhaps more simply, why should I care?"
Because America will be severely affected if there was another crisis in Europe and because of the geopolitical importance of Greece, which is ironically one of the few Nato states in the EU to realize the agreed spending in military.
"Would be beter for everyone if they go back tot their own currency"
That is nonsense. The theory that says "devaluation brings more export and economic growth" isn't necessarily true in this case. That is a simplification. It is often proven by economic growth numbers but they forget to mention the huge economic downfall and poverty that precedes it. Its a mathematical trick. When you have 10 and go to 11 you have less growth in % then when you go from 1 to 2.
The cost for implementing a new currency is huge. The economic collapse of eg Italy would cause a new crisis in the EU. I do however agree that greece should never have been part of the EURO in the first place. But they shouldn't change now.
This is a question and not a statement.
Wouldn't Greece be better off with their own currency
if and when the euro and dollar collapse ?
Maybe the better question should be:
Why didn't Europa decide on a recovery plan that would make one of there states better in stead of making a plan that will refund the banks that bought Greek dept.
Greeks wont fight for Latvia either tho
They put a whooping on the Persians though.
Well, they're still there. And the asshat prime minister is probably getting reelected.
Wait!
GREEK STOCK MARKET CRASHES -10%
Looks like they will need a new bailout sooner rather than later. Germoney better opens up its pockets again.

Now they have the "civil union" opened up for gay couples, it could help the economy a bit. Think of all the flowers, cakes, "wedding presents" etc that will be sold... ![]()
