Again, one player hitting you and then NAP'ing, does not denote that the rest of the offenders family will not again hit you. In a completely different post, I say again...
...you try NAP'ing with 15-25 different players, from loss, to loss, to more loss.
One of my first posts in forums dealt with new players, or underdogs in the universe uniting to fight common scourges. But that fell on deaf ears and eyes, who basically used the term "newb" or "noob" on my ass for several years. The smaller families don't have much in the way of "political" or "fleet" clout, in order to make much headway against larger families.
The families of IC are nothing but rungs on a ladder in both influence and fleet power. Your either at the top, or your climbing to the top. Influence in this game is based on which players know each other, have worked with each other, and know a more comprehensive style of play, than say someone completely new.
Originally the whole idea of "Random" family, caused many players to delete, then restart, until they got into a family of the players they liked, or knew best, or were considered "Top Performers". Kinda missed the random days. Although I would have put a damn timer on those that deleted and attempted to restart in a new family. Or in some cases those same players made multiple accounts in the hopes of landing in a prefered family.
Still, older players seem to dominate vs. those comparitively new and stuck in smaller families, learning the hard way, and literally being farmed to death, while the established players looked down and laughed and tell him/her "get better, or find a better family."
This attitude by established players has been piss poor for years, going all the way up until today.
Still, I always gave more credit to those that were farmed to death and fought all the way till the near destruction of their empire, and then came back to try again. Usually over and over again.
I been farmed. I hated it. One of the established players gave me a shot in an established family...and even with a winning family...I hated it. Your either a banker, or an attacker.
Banker/attacker banker/attacker banker/attacker.
If that's all this game is about is the bank rollers, and the attackers who are receiving those funds, then i'd say a lot of busy body players were piss poor, because they couldn't fund themselves to comit to an attack.
Over farming is pretty much banker/attacker thing now. I begin to wonder how many players COULD have been farmed, if Bankers did not exist to fund the Attackers in general. How much in gains could the attacker truelly have gotten, without support from a banker. Their attacks would, or could have sputtered out, leaving themselves open to counter attack. So the game in that regards is kind of unrealistic.
Farming could not be supported without bankers, to support the attackers.
And most new players won't even know this. Low populated families will always be low populated because of an inability to have a number of bankers in equal amount to the number of attackers. The sad things is, EVERYONE wants to be an attacker. Attackers gain the planets, they gain notice, because they are the Leaders in the scoreboard. Of course the attackers would then cede planets to bankers, but still you see that majority of scoreboard is attackers. How many bankers make a name for themselves. Half a dozen? Known IC wide?
I think last round I saw a family of ....one. One guy, going it alone, his family either AFk, or...multiple account players who attempted to find themselves in a nice populated family. But one guy, took a lot of losses and just kept going. In my book that's not a bad player. That's a player that has stamina. And that's the sort of player this game needs.
The term Farmed in this game is a deragatory term. Nobody wants to be farmed. Shows they have either no skill, no power, and/or no influence. And players without skill, power or influence are usually spit upon. Some of you would use the word "unlucky" considering all the obstacles they would have to overcome. But those that use the term unlucky are nothing but jackasses who got kicked in the teeth quite a few times themselves and don't want to admit they either had no skills, no power, and certainly had no influence.
