Re: Starburst Round 11
Trying to find a balance is the thing. The competitive players naturally want to be #1. It's why we play the game. Many so-called relaxed for fun players can tend to slow and drag on a family by not caring about the ranks.
If you don't care about ranks why are you playing? Without a goal I could see why this game is a waste of time.
If Supernova is for SS play then why not SS play there- is that not what it is ment for?
And since Starburst is a Family play galaxy then play family style and expect it.
There should be a chaos galaxy- a 3rd galaxy where peeps are expected to play Fam and/or SS style.
As it is in Starburst it is a challenge to a leader to find the balance but then that's why most leaders lead- we like the challenge.
In a competitive fam, If you know you are going against the majority, you should expect some static.
Not saying you can't play- just saying your presence should benefit the family goals in competitive play.
It's more fun to have fun while being #1. Otherwise the true players quit- historically. And I like the looks of my imperial history when I do well.
@Zanharim: Your leader should give you a shot and see what you can do. If your style of SS play benefits the fam as a whole then there should be little problem. Just keep in mind your leader should be making decisions based on the fam as a whole and what it's goals are above all. Good Luck, I think you 'll do well- I kept an eye on you last round ![]()
And for the record, in general- getting pounded on all or 1/2 the round in a small fam is not fun- it's frustrating.
Being a small fam and fighting it to the tops of the ranks at EOR- now that's Priceless
