Lets hope stefan read it and realise how messed did he leave the game, and maybe tell us the real reason why there are no more devs anymore.

Day 12
- IRC is basically dying, people just idle there...Why bother to go then
Though I do see Zarf once in a while, and Deci comes on. But everyone else, silent as a ghost

- WE STILL USE IRC!?
I feel like we've gone back in time

- I enjoy some of the functionality of the Gal Map, however in some ways it too functional as it basically makes a few spells/ops useless.

Day 16
- a lot of people complain about the mods not doing a lot, however let's be honest, the players have a fair share in being inactive, terrible to each other as well. I think both make this game invaluable or terrible to play.

- I did the math, the diff btw 8 and 9 family members at SOR is HUGE. I favour (Canadian spelling FTW) a smaller families too, as it's harder to play and the would create, I think, a more balanced playing field

- There is an honour forum?
I guess this is gotten really bad. I can understand the dilemma as it isn't easy to patrol Honour. There are 1000x different factors that can get involved

- In the old days, when you post something if you didn't have 5 posts in the first hour, it was a fail. Now you can wait days

I realized I actually dreamed of coming back to play this game for a couple of months, however I think a lot of the elements I loved like the camaraderie, and just chatting with your family members are now long dead. I, unfortunately, am stupidly optimistic, so I hope to make next round as enjoyable for everyone as possible.  I will keep you updated

It used to be across every family, not just 1 or 2

I agree, that the social aspect has gone a lot, I think with the removal of drafting it's almost impossible to play with players you really enjoy playing with.  I know for the bulk of my early game playing I played with 4 guys for for like 15 rounds.  Every 3 months we would buy our VIP just to play with our mates..  We certainly trained the n00b's, but we also had our roles, which meant it didnt matter who landed in your fam, we were going to do pretty well, and get buy even if we didnt have a lot of active fam members. 

So the social aspect has changed to almost nothing. I played a fam round 2 rounds ago, and set up a irc channel, and got one maybe 2 players out of the 8 fam members come in to chat for a total of about 2 hrs.  It was sad ..

I cannot blame Stefan for what we had thought was impossible - consumers in 2010s preferring inferior hardware.

Smartphones are an inferior computer to tabletops or even laptops, but they're preferred because of convenience, and because you like the swiss-army-knife approach of a smartphone, if you only have one computer, its' a phone.  And with the cost of new smartphones, many many many people can only afford the phone.

This is not what we saw coming when the 1980s started.
