Can someone give me a description of what a core system is/does?

in supernova. you have 2 + your home system.

your home system can't be attacked by anyone at any time. completely safe.

the next 2 cores are a bit different. you have to fill the systems. if you own 100% of the planets for 7 days they also become protected and no one can attack them.
