Topic: Short optional rounds

It would be fun if there would be quicker and different rounds = ).
If you're crushed soon or have a bad round in another galaxy it's perhaps a motivation to have these kinds of side-galaxies.

Eg:  One round with update every 30 minutes. Goes on for 2 weeks.
Two fams that play 1vs1.

50 players/fam allowed.

A set amount of time in which each family is restricted to a part of the galaxy, so no attacks can happen (and parts of the galaxy remain unexplored).

After that time, battle time. Access for both fams to the complete map.

Imo it's great fun without troubles of illegal alliances and raids of 3th fam and so on.  But I'm guess it's a lot of work to arrange such thing.

I can't believe people won't like this idea but it would be nice and helpful if people give their opinion. It might actually be useful...

as far as i was aware this came up before - ticks shorter than 1 hr - but mods said it wasnt possible without a lot of work. otherwise it would be awesome to try 30min ticks. or even shorter.

indeed, this was mentioned a lot of times thru the years, we even talked about weekend rounds, with a tik every 10 minutes, there was a lot of possibilities, but you kannot implement this for just 1 gal or 1 round, it has to be implemented for the whole game , so mods initially said we'd need another server to run short gals, tho I guess the problem is more what Flashy says, too many job for the one administrator our almighty Stefan that does not see a benefit in suzh operation, and maybe he's right about it, its not only to do a bakup in another server and modify the kode, the problem is to keep both servers running in the same domain I guess.  hmm

this is interesting, a kore preset, with a given time for infra and then after that time go to wars. However there should be a way to promote the konflikts or they wont happen. I'd say this kould be done in 3 times:

Kore time -> each family is restricted to a part of the galaxy, a klose kore area, and even some outter klusters.  This phase would be ezplo + offensive restrikted.

Spot time -> Access for all the fams to the complete map, so u kan ezplore and set outspots in strategikal areas previously restrikted.  This phase would only be offensive restrikted, and it'd be a short period, 48 tiks as muzh, so the researzh boys have an advantage to portal up in front of your nose.

Battle time -> No restriktions, the game is played normally, battles will happen to try and remove enemy spots, there would be insane jumps and bloody wars.

Isn't that easily solved by making the map small enough?

It should be interesting to see who's the economic genious and/or the strategic warlord, and what consequences it has to have the best infra. *crosses fingers for a trial galaxy*
