Topic: Drivers license
Many will consider me a conservative A** after this but I think 16 years old, the age you can go for your drivers license in many countries is to young.
Youth is impulsive, provocative and takes risks easier. There is nothing wrong with that, in fact I think its good young people are like that. But it becomes a risk if you apply these properties in traffic. We see many times more deadly incidents with youth then with any other groups of drivers, including old people who you expect are slow and can't see as clear.
Its scientifically proven most persons are mature on a much later age.
So here I am, being hated for it by both left and right wingers, advocating a much later age of 19 in dense areas. I'm all for better education of traffic rules at school, but not for kids on the roads.
Exceptions can be made in many circumstances (remote areas, for orphans etc) but especially in dense areas where you have many alternatives, the standard age should be 19.
Possibly you could force young people to have a sign on their cars and make "forbidden" zones in densely populated areas. People in remote areas are far more dependent on their cars even the youth.
