render how exactly would you like people to distinguish who is a new player? Pretty hard to guess in a SS gal with set race imo.

if i had invited someone to this game then i would have let them know two things:

the HS is protected
anything outside needs lasers and/or Ds protection.

the first round we had protected cores, i tried it. mainly because i got the wrong idea and thought they were protected after 48hrs. turns out for 5 days they were unprotected and no one hit me big_smile

& in previous rounds i've seen others attempt it.

i tried to stay small and failed misserable smile)
even as a noob, you got a lot of chances
oh and as a noob, i made several naps that gived me a good protection.
noobs should try this too. is good for the game. you can't expect to join for the first time and don't send msg, don't build lasers, just infra.

this game needs some strategy!
render you should try and get one. you know how to play the game, you got good activity, you have good ideeas, but you suck at strategy sad

oh and if you want to get new players....put them to read the forum, or tell them what to do!!

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

I do not understand the whole not building defenses thing. I have a fair amount of agents, but I am seeing in peoples infils they are building 0 agents.

it doesn't matter how good you try to protect, how many agents you have......someone will ruin your game.
i tried to stay small, didn't expand, tried to get a core system, had a portal....and got wiped.
yea game sucks.
75% rule was good, very good, and should be made 80% for better protection for noobs.
i had to try and played like a noob, and [woops]......you will get killed anyway.

In my opinion, intel is key in SS galaxies. Being able to predict your opponent's next move based on units coming in or waiting for a lack of defence, ensures you'll be able to react in time even if you're not able to think a step ahead of your opponent. But hey, don't listen to me, I'm just a traveling minstrel spreading around bits of knowledge. And now I'm off again, salutes!
