Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

For those that don't understand the term Cycle, and how it relates to this arguement.  #'s 1 and 2 in the meaning.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cycle

In this regards, either the cycle of heating and cooling.  So means years of heating...then so meany years of cooling...then so many years of heating again.  This...is a cycle event.

Since the ice age, earth has been warming up.   But it was warming up over thousands upon thousands of years, until the glaciers receded.  Chances were in time we might have had those glaciers again moving forward.  Maybe in tens of thousands of more years in the future.  We couldn't know that unless we recorded that data.  Since late 1800's and the early 1900's, world wide, we have been collecting tempature information.  We've collected data for nearly 100+ years.

Now the charts presented have shown a graduate and quick increase of temperature for those 100+ years.  Until a "cycle" occurs, that means DATA showing 100 years of global cooling, you should expect the heat to keep INCREASING, until wholly proven otherwise.

My arguement is, that temperature will continue to increase, due to man made emissions.  The chart I showed, linked the industrial revolution, and then the start of Mass Production in the mid 1940's as a steady increase in temperatures world wide.  My theory has a basis.  But it's not just my theory, it's a scientific theory.  When your calling me an idiot, your calling thousands of scientists WORLD WIDE idiots also.

Now, to disprove that theory, you would have to have an equal amount of years, of steady cooling of world wide tempature, to show that it's a natural occuring phenomina, where human interferance would then be negligable.

You sure don't act like your name sake Spock.  I've proven my theory and arguement in a logical manner.  The only thing you've attempted to do was try to piss people off in order to get them banned from the forums.  The only person that is Trolling right now, is you.

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

100 years is nothing in geological or climate terms.

Your problem is epic ignorance of the topic. You're just rambling:

That's not how science works. We don't arbitrarily create expectations. We observe data and form theories. We then test those theories.

Many theories have been programmed into computer simulations and tested. None have shown any value.

Firmly establishing that we don't know what to expect. But you don't know this. And you're rambling anyway.

Your theory is absolutely ridiculous childish "science." It's not science at all. Its scope and data are SO limited that it's laughable. You are obviously ill-equipped to judge my logic. It's all well and good that you don't understand why such a limited and base observation is not real science, but your arrogance in accepting it without being aware of your lack of education is neither my fault, nor reason for even more arrogant proclamations that I am illogical.

Thousands of scientists? I thought less than 200 signed off on that garbage man caused nonsense with government funding motivations. Your supposed "majority" is like 130 scientists who signed a letter saying "please give us more money, we'll say whatever you want to help you get more power and tax revenue!"

That's not what "majority" means. And it's not science.

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

rain barrels are illegal because your neighbors bought land figuring they'd get runoff from uphill to keep from owning a sand dune, not a rain forest but SOMETHING, and there you go with a barrel hogging it, and one night your home burns down and you're dead, and nobody downhill saw anything or heard anything, officer, and the rain flows free, and the next owner has more sense

that's why they just banned the barrels

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

Runoff forms streams and rivers. It is not responsible for the difference between a plain and a sand dune. The rain does that.

And I'm sure there're a myriad of laws, good and bad, dictating what you can do with rivers and streams and what rights people downstream have.

A few rain barrels are such an inconsequential amount of water as to not be ecologically significant. Especially considering that man's development (buildings + pavement) already create a lot more runoff than occurs naturally to begin with.

Well the most recent case I saw...the guy put up a short mud berm, and got enough to float 20' boats in a private lake

Hahaha that's very different than "rain barrels!" And yeah, I can see some legitimate purpose to laws that regulate that sort of thing. tongue

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

The Earth has been cooling since it formed. However, we're not really concerned by long-term trends. A warmer planet is good for life; whilst a cooler planet may have some benefits to humans. But either way +/-3c isn't the end of the world nor the end of mankind.

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

We tend to congregate in temperate weather areas, and do tend to stay clear of extreme zones high heat or super cold.  There's a limit to how much that a human can take before the body starts to physically shutdown.

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

wtf guys.. do you really think the problem is that earth is getting too warm for humas to exist?
the problem is that if our world keeps getting warmer elks wont freeze in lakes anymore.. therefor there will be too many elks on the world which will have a enormous effect on human being since getting trampled down by an elk will become somewhat common!

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

Dont ban guns, guns kill elk, we will be safe then!

Iron sights or scope, sticks?

I can imagine how the walk back to the truck went

Sticks: OMG ELK! RUNNNN
Other Guy: Shut up.
Sticks: Were you on the track team in High School?
Other Guy: Shut up.
Sticks: Naw I know you had my back.
Other Guy: Shut up.
Sticks: The WAAAAAAAAAAY BACK! Get it?

Re: I for one do not welcome global cooling

A scope and yeah all I seen was hair when I pulled up, we were a mile off the road and hiked in when it was still dark,  it just started getting daylight as we walked around a turn in the trail and there was a cow elk about 50 feet behind a downed log, then we heard this crunching sound to the other side of us, it was the 6pt bull on a full charge headed right at us. we got ourselves between him and his girl friend,  I shot and hit him in the right eye and he dropped.  It was 7 am opening morning, I sent my friend back to his truck which was all uphill to go get some help. They arrived back about 3 hrs later and it took 5 of us and a dirt bike till 6pm to get it back up to the truck, im 6 foot tall and its back came up to my eye level, it was around 1100lb live weight  6X6
