No, you just feel it more.
10 players leave, when you have like 500 - not a big deal. But when 10 people leave when you only have 100 ....that's noticeable.
nothing can replace the old days-
beast,death,pp,rd,kt,rd,kagar,gen,miz,dimpel,arcid,airwing,and tons of others- from smurfs to borgs to whatever names fams had- great and lame.
the best times I had were the tri- wars and even though fighting another family- we still took time to laugh and joke wether messages or uni- and who left their figs out when they went to bed.
back then- most fun was pp blowing up uni and us all laughing- his family included.
now seems- like ic is drained- uni more filled with bashing then razzing the other war teams.
some friends yes- why some come back and look- to talk and laugh- but to play again- it is such a disappointment!
it is disappointing to watch vets of the game- rape guys cause their noobs- we use to grab a few then tell the guy how to stop the next guy- so he would come back for the next round. game is played now like this is last round and game dead.

Just checking in and I see the same "new" interface is there. Nice!

I played with most of those people you named and the two or three I never played with I at least spent a lot of time fighting them.
I just recently came back to see how things are going, still trying to get used to the new UI and all, but the population seems so low that those days are long gone 
most of the old players have moved on to more advanced online games and i know 2 of them are actually being paid to play these more advanced games such as diablo and warcraft ect its these amazing blizzard titles that have taken away a good chunk of the players not the appearance and layout of this game
It's not an excuse. IC type games can exist. Travian is a good example. Hire good manager and you should be fine.

Travian is a commercial game (bordering pay2win with the latest versions) they invest in the game, develop, have adds etc to bring in loads of players. IC is a hobby for Stefan, it never had paid devs or mods, and probably never will. So very little investing, developing and new players.
How can i get paid for playing WoW? Except by selling chars.
Farm gold (chinese gold farms come to mind) or you become a good streamer, lots of add revenue.

i would come back and play and i am sure others would aswell its not the ability to adapt to the changes made, its just the changes made it worse, No offense to mods,devs etc. Just saying

lol what do you kall "bak to normal" ??? have more than 50 players? have more than 0 developers? go bak to the old map? use the mapgen? do yamas? ... I kould make a list of things going wrong with the game, really, but it aint worth at this point
mass mailing and talking to people who used to play to have a reunion round would be fun.
still need to change some of interface back to make alot of the vets play again. imo
