What does inactive mean?

Inactive is a tag which only the leader can assign to any family member.
Usually assigned when someone doesn't log on for a while (the leader can see the last login time of an inactive player if they haven't logged in for over 52 hours (1 IC year).
Attacking an inactive player takes less moral than attacking others. A person marked inactive can be killed off by his family members by attacking his home planet when it is his only remaining planet.
The inactive sign doesn't always mean the player is inactive.
Leaders can declare active family members inactive too, for several reasons.

Most top families use inactive for almost all of their family members... So what are the advantage of tagging members as inactive ?

less morale loss when trading planets

but i think the intra family planet swapping has had its morale cost reduced anyways, so it no longer has any effect

If you are out of range you will not blow the planet up if the Family member you take the planet from is marked Inactive, and yes less morale lost as well.

No, this is incorrect.  Planets, intra-fam will no longer ever blow up.  (Infra will still be razed if less than 70% networth though).

Inactive tag provides less morale loss, for intra-fam only.

Another thing that needs to be removed really.  The less morale should apply always, anyway (marking people inactive for this purpose is a bit redundant and silly).

The inactive Tag's use other than this (and in my opinion, should be its only use), is to be able to remove a player from your fam, once they are on 1 planet.

It was changed so we could kill off small inactives without blowing their planets up (making them uninhabitable, which is exactly what happened when you were a 1million NW player killing off a 50k NW inactive) in so keeping their planets.

Ya, maybe - I'm not sure who and when it was changed.  But now, you don't need to have someone marked 'inactive' to not blow the planet.

Planets will never blow up now, in intra family trades - regardless of networths.

Cool, I did not know that, and yeah I don't think you were around when it was changed... I tried to go back and look for it but it's a needle in a hay stack of ideas now lol smile

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
