Disclaimer:  Talking as a player here, not as a dev/mod/whatever


Problem

You guys are getting bored, and think there's no competition. 


Proposal

Since we're all friends, and don't really care about ranks and what not, this is my proposal to mix things up a bit!
1) Devilz and ICDeath have 24 hours to delete from their fams (any preps has to be done in 24hours).
2) All PNaps for 266 and 268 get turned into 48hour ones (assuming acceptance by opposing fams).
3) Devilz and ICDeath draft into one of these fams each, to see how well they can do and which fam they can bring up:

13    The Frakking Cylons (10273) [33,69]     279     2084906     26985    


Disclaimer 2:  There is no admission from me here that these two players are good players tongue  It's just that they're active, and seem to be controlling their fams to an extent.  That, and I'm sure they may be up for trying something new for a change.

I'm sure Devilz will do it, he works with whatever he's got. ICD on the other hand, will only be active if it's "worth his time". This scenario doesn't play into his style at all and there's no way he's going to "be made a fool" by trying it.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

acutally i would do it.. but this not round but maybe next round or something.. i dunno..us deleting sounds crappy.. i told to do our idea..gives better chances to give newer players and chance to be a good/decent fams

No one is in right mind to quit top fams to join last place fams.

However, there is flaw in this proposal. no exploration left, not possible to grow at this stage. I guarantee IC Death or Devilz won't do it. Even if there is any unexplored planets, IC Death won't do it, but Devilz, maybe he can. Anyway, several players have been crying about map being too big or too many unexplored planets not explored at EOR so mods made it smaller and made it possible to run out of unexplored planets before EOR phase start. (Edit: because of this, no more unexplored planets left, force fams to fight for planets at EOR) If mods made the map big and add many more planets, which won't run out of getting explored until EOR, then small last ranking fams can still have chance to grow. However, no more unexplored planets left, no one care to grow.

I'm leading The Frakking Cylons, whom got crushed so badly by both top two fams, leaving half of fam losing motivation, then Christmas and New Year came, everyone except Dimpel went inactive, not bothering to try grow at all. If Devilz or IC Death join us, then great, but we're not going to grow anyway. No difference. Dimpel and I can be active but I'm not going to waste my time trying to grow then get battered by other bigger fams, wasting hard work and efforts into growth. I'd rather be busy in real life than spending my time in tiny little world called IC. :-P

Why?  If you play for ranks, then ofcourse.  But if you've achieved the top, and then just call for the galaxy to end, then that's a bit silly.  This is just a fun idea to keep it varied.  Ofcourse it's a challenege.

I think you new-age players (:p), are spoiled.  Back when NAP wars were done properly and losing one didn't mean you were out of the game, we'd actually work for shares.  Explo phase was much less than 1/3 of the round.  We actually planned on who to war and how to do it best to set up on someone else goign forward.

Guess that's all lost these days too.

I stopped reading this trash once you mentioned that IC Death and Devils are good players.  These two losers have basically waited nearly 17 years for all the players who wiped the floor with them to quit to be considered "good"

He actually didn't say they were good players, he said they were active. We all know ICD is just the master of deleting (back in the old days) so personally i thought this plan might have worked for him wink

meaning this in the nicest possible way - the last time the author of this thread had a 'good idea' we lost pinwheel and around 40 regular players

^This is right, but you're speaking like a grandpa here: "bak in those days...when the game was alive...in the first age of the middle earth..."

In this new idiot age, people needs always planets to ezplore and build stupid infra, even in the last day of the round, the game is so dead they think that's the way you have to play it, people have forgotten or never have known that this is (was?) a STRATEGY WAR game.

The game has been dead for a while now, but no one wanted to except the facts, nor the responsibility for this problem.
How did you expect the game to grow and expand if you continually let others rape and pillage the new ppl in the game. For many a yr now ppl have been getting away with so much crap in the game, and nothing, nor anyone to stop them from doing it. The new ppl who you continually do this every new round do not return to the game, and do nothing but bad mouth us because of it.
