Topic: Round length

Are rounds shorter than they used to be? I seem to remember rounds lasting about 10 weeks? I assume a lot of thought has gone into this, but just curious.

The problem with rounds being 6-7 weeks is that I feel if you lose a war, there isn't enough time to rally, fight a couple of other wars, and still win. In SB this round, expo phase lasted almost half the round. I seem to remember expo phase only being a short portion of the round, with most of the time spent warring and jockeying for position?

Numbers of families decreased as well. Back in the days with longer rounds you had 30 fams or so. Now you have like 6-10 who you can fight. If we make the rounds longer everybody sits still doing nothing after a couple weeks.

On the bright side, starting resources have been increased in an attempt to shorten expo phase.
