Topic: Thanks for ruining this round!!!!! [VOTING]

My family had around 150 planets. We kicked our guy called n00b. Then we got new player. He is active and willing to play. I was holding bank.

Now this IC downtime, forced few hours rollback, which is okay. We jumped some infra really good.

Then all of sudden, there is second rollback. I looked when it got back up. I was in disbelief!!!! It appeared that rollback is like almost 3 days ago. My fam is back to 58 planets. We got n00b back in and our new guy gone. I dont have bank. No one is online to send me cash and ressies.

Everyone in my family worked hard to build infra. Now this rollback really ruined this round for me. I don't feel like I want to play anymore!

Seriously.........

I'm rather miffed at this too. I just started playing less than 24 hours ago. I had just built up half my planet and had just explored several new planets. Now I get on and come back to not even having an empire.

Some stuff just never changes.  X(

WTF happened? I'm with Vegnarok on this..geez it's hard to lose a lot. Plus of course, ur enemy/target already know what u're going to do. This is really great. Please roll IC forward. big_smile

this is better then going on giving some teams huge advantages, with other getting kinda screwed over,

this is the fairest way,

and they can only roll back, to saved times, and it happens to only save the game 1 time a day.

Well, it is a small game, still coded by only one guy(though the one guy has changed). I'm guessing they can't afford what it would take to have backups happen more often, or at least to back up game data.

Still doesn't make me happy that I have to start all over again and the planets I just explored before the roll back are probably going to be taken by others that were in the same system, now that they know someone else has decided to give it a look.

Yeah but it set it back to over 2 days ago, Devilz.  Not just 1 =P

And if you are going to rollback that far, you might as well just reset the round completely.

Reset the round with stay in family option is probably better than deep rollback. -_-

Guys, let's face it. For 14 years this has been a common occurrence. If it hasn't changed in all that time, it's not going to change now or any time in the future. Best thing to do is rebuild, change plans, and keep moving on. At least none of you literally just re-joined less than 24 hours ago and not only lost all the building you did, but your original planet too. Now I'm stuck in a crap place at the edge of the map, and the map doesn't even default to my home location anymore. Joy.

This thread is for venting. Let others vent in here. Let mods know how we feel about it.

Ofc, this is common occurence. But that doesn't excuse mistakes being made over and over again. I know it can be improved since we have developers. We didn't have this more than 3 years ago and mods were finally taking the rein on how to improve the game, even trying to attract more players. The point of this thread is that this happen again before, this should not happen again in future, and prevent further frustrations among players who suddenly decided to leave the game for good. The big question here is should we accept deep rollback as far as 3 days ago instead of just few hours rollback? I am sure that this rollback will impact some of us.

This thread will give mods and devs to think about on what to do next to prevent this from happening.

the game was glitched, something had to be done, there was no other way to fix it, other then setting it back,

ok, maybe 2 days was a little much :s, but i think he set back 1 full year in game to make sure no more bugs,

yes this screws lots of people over, but gives everyone second chance,
45 day round, 2 days wont make to big a difference.

Like i said i'm with vegnarok on this, i am upset of what happened. But let's admit that although this will impact many, like vegnarok's fam, this gave others second chance as Devilz said. I'm over it now, i'll move on and i hope my fam moves on with me.

well this is like the dumbest shit i've ever seen.. this reset even messed up 2 eco builds that happened right in the middle.. great job this round is ruined howcome it had to go damn near 3 days backwards when it should of only been reset what a few hrs.. makes no sense but this is a ultra fubar on their part.. u know how many hrs i logged the past 2 days to ensure that builds were done properly now all thats gone.. i could deal with hell half a day but when u go and jump back a few days.. shit man thats just wrong

lol devilz happy cause his fam is the only fam that benefits from this reset lol.. reset perfect for him..

It sucks, but I don't see a good alternative to rolling it back.  They chose the best of the bad options available imo.  I'm OK with it as long as it doesn't happen again in the next couple of days.  Start of the round is boring enough to play through once, forget three times.

yeah it rolled forward. i hope there wont be any more rollback. I think this time it's right thing to do, keep most happy as long as its not too many hours lost.
