Re: The News Media finally rebels!

I think both the CIA and former KGB offices, came up with a really cool photo-"shooter" where the camera can fire a .22 or a dart at close proximity of ten feet.  This of course belies that you could still pack a camera with C-4 with the snapshot button as the trigger.  That and many "photo JOURNALISTS", are ordered by their bosses to ask questions on site, if they believe they can get a story right there, right then.

What the oval office never wants to do is show that certain people maybe in the room or within the offices of the White House.  Many photojournalists are trained to reckognize diplomats or ambassadors, and other world leaders.  Just a photo at the wrong time, could lead to some very very bad snafu's between relations of other countries.  What would happen if a photojournalist caught sight of an iranian ambassador in the white house and took a photo, giving the time and date of the photo...Israel would start asking some pretty pesky questions, and raise international scrutiny about private back room deals....

So, the White House controlling access of the photo media...I don't blame them.  If the national news media outlets want to run around like idiot Paparazi, more stupidity to them.

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

Don't care.  It's the White House.  Photo-journalists and editors are NOT in charge of the United States.  Allowing them total power to push into the avenue of the White house, also would give them the power to push into your own home.

Allow for one, you have to allow for all.  Freedom of press, trumps freedom of choice?  Freedom of press, trumps freedom of privacy?  When the press can trump privacy, then you got a problem.

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

Again with excuse making and propoganda?

If Obama meets the Pope the press want to have a chance to take pictures. Even if that means a pool photographer. Yet Obama wants his own only so they can make 100% sure it matches what impression he wants it to match.

What?  Sure I give Obama the benifit of the doubt.

But I also hate Bill Clintons guts.

Both are democrats.  I'm a republican.

It's not democrat/republican thing with me. I just prefer one man over the other.

I do believe JFK is an overrated figure in history.  I think Andrew Jackson is an underrated figure in history.

Calling me a troll, for disagreeing with the eel and shark like antics of you guys?  You smell blood in the water, and it's everyone out for himself eh?

OK! big_smile  Obatroll, must be a new meh meh.  Don't think it'll catch on, but sure, why not.  Proud to Obatroll!

I MUST BE SPECIAL! =^^=

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

You had "doubt" about whether the President should freeze out the press and use his own photographers?

Howsabout NO, you crazy Dutch bastard?

It's a figure of speech. tongue

The Dutch don't have democrats or republicans.  They....have their own problems.  But no, I don't believe that the media and press have full authority to do whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want.

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

So...if this was a republican president doing the same (and they have), then you'd still be against it?

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

I think the media has a big mouth with, "FREEDOM OF THE PRESS!"

I've firmly believed that when the Freedom of the Press, starts digging into the Freedom of Privacy then we have a problem.  In this case it was nothing more than photo journalists.  Emphasis on "JOURNALIST".  Photo journalists don't just shoot pictures, they also ask questions, because their BOSS tells them too.

"If you get a chance to take his picture, I want you to ask the question of what the president thinks of Syria."

I've seen several photo-ops.  When there is a news camera, all you hear is...photo clicking...and some flashes.  I was actually present at a photo-op one time, and those CAMERA-MEN, would NOT shutup.  And they were asking a lot of journalist questions, and it was photo JOURNALISTS.

Every president has their own tastes on journalists, and having their pictures taken.  President has his security advisors that tell him what they believe to be security concerns in relation to those same photo-ops.  Now if the president doesn't want to do SPORTS ILLISTRATED photo shoots, then the president doesn't have to.  It's his choice, not the media's.

So if the media is crying like a bunch of baby's, then their nothing more than papparazi looking for permission to do their jobs.

"The president won't let us take pictures of him! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Seriously, to me that's what the media looks like.  You and I both know, any president can call for a photo-op with the media if he wants it.  If he doesn't want it, the media has no say.  It's each individual president's choice.  I like it, how a hollywood actor goes down a street doing common people things, and they have to suffer the indignity of the media at every turn, without their permission.  In that regard, the actor gets no say.

I remember when I was 7 and Reagan had a TV special where little kids got to ask him questions like the kids were reporters.  He claimed that he liked reading the Spiderman comic in the newspaper and wondered how he would get away from the mutant wrestler. Next week the wrestler was shot in the back by a cop and killed.  Since then I have opposed staged White House crap.

Re: The News Media finally rebels!

Nobody watches ABC or CBS any more. Attributing anything to them is laughable.
