Topic: Ban P-NAPS?

I am starting to think just removing permanent NAPS could be a good idea.

- It would not require a lot of coding more removing it as an option

- It would increase the chances of wars and fighting rather than boring rounds

- It would stop people going P-NAP with people only to want to hit them later

- It would bring more diplomacy into the game each leader on his word and honor

The better P-NAP would be the 72 hour NAP

NAPs should not be moderated

Re: Ban P-NAPS?

In normal gals pnaps serve a useful purpose and should not be altered.
After a war it is usual to pnap and move on to the next target. Without pnaps some families would potentially never see a calm moment during a round cause of warring same fams several times.

And "bringing more diplomacy into the game each leader on his word and honor" well that angle has been tried many times over the last decade and more than often it has ended with nap breaks or shady behavior. Removing pnap removes the only 100% certainty that you wont get any trusted gentlemens agreements blow back in your face.

An alternative to the normal pnap is something i use in Supernova. In relations it is signed as a 72 h NAP, but in reality it is a permanent one and can only be broken in both leaders explicitly agrees to cancel it. Even if someone tries a nap break here, you have 3 days to prepare, save up and name and shame in uni news etc.

The only place i see removing perm nap has any purpose is in solo gals Supernova where a pnap acts almost as an alliance. But even if you remove pnap in SN, people will still avoid attacking friends and others they made an agreement with.

Turn on - Tune in - Drop out

Re: Ban P-NAPS?

You need to keep pnaps.
You have to think in the shoes of smaller families. They will get farmed, as bigger fams will NAP and then cancel again and again… I see it happen when bigger families compete to be no.1 in size. They just farm the crap outta smaller families.
