Topic: NAPS & Alliances:

This is really a follow up of Legions post:

http://imperialconflict.com/forum/viewt … ?id=189800

But perhaps a different way of putting things:

ALLIANCES:

I do think it would be nice to try a round or two where 1 alliance slot is available.

I think this could have various good effects:

- It would make the alliance legal
- It would open up more diplomacy and planning like options (like people are asking for)
- Having at least 1 solid alliance would cut down the need for IA alliances
- Having 1 solid alliance would perhaps cut down or limit the need for NAPS
- It would promote player communication and friendship building n the community

NAPS:

I would personally limit the number of NAPS to either 2 or 4.

I personally like the sound of 1 alliance slot and 2 NAP slots.

However I say 4 NAP slots because that could be:

1 - 24 Hour
1 - 48 Hour
1 - 72 Hour
1 - P-NAP

Just an idea might be fun

Re: NAPS & Alliances:

I'm glad my post stirred up some ideas. smile

In one sentence I suppose what I was saying was that we are wasting a possible opportunity in diplomacy between fams.
A possibility that can be seen as neccessary to making the round more challenging, and with that obviously comes a more enjoyable round.

RareUK, although it seems we are both interested in exploring this, as well as a lot of other players, we are however still not yet agreed on some points.

For example, why stop at 1 alliance? I can see the argument that by having a max of 1 allying fam, it might prevent super alliances which dominate the galaxy and hence be counter intuitive. But what if there was no limit to the alliances you could hold. This way, any "dominating" alliance could be challenged at any point in the round.
To any IC vet...Look back at the rounds you've played. The most memorable ones are probably the ones in which you were the underdogs but came out on top.
Having the freedom to form as many agreements with other fams as you want makes this possible.

For example, a conflict between the #1 and #2 families Vs #6, #7, #8 and #9 families is way more interesting than the current reality of just 1vs1 (any more and IA gets called out lol!)

Now that would scare the pants off the #1 family (like myself smile)
