Topic: Accelerated / Quicker Start:

I have noticed that for many years in IC we have always started with the same number of things, same number  of resources, same amount of cash, same amount of fleet and so on.   However I have been thinking that perhaps a "slightly" faster start would help speed things up / would cut down the exploration phase a little / and would give families more time to war ect.

For Example:

- New empires start with 2 expo ships

- Start planet is 50% Iron & 50% Food

- Start with 20 CFS already built on home planet

I am not talking about huge galactic changes, just small changes that would boost the start of the round a little, meaning families could build that bit quicker and get to better sizes and game play faster.

I would point out that:

You can not send expo ships as aid

You can not swap your home planet or send that as aid

You can not send 20 CF's as aid or swap them either

In other words its not like someone can create a random empire and just send all the bonuses in aid to make one player big, but on the flip side if they used it themselves and was a decent and active player then sure it would speed the start of the round a little more, just give players that extra bit of option to build, expand, fight and play the game rather than a slower start and wasting ages building to that point.

Just an idea smile

Re: Accelerated / Quicker Start:

- New empires start with 2 expo ships  --> some previous rounds started with 8 ezplos and a lot of resourzes, it only depends on the setup, so it's already happening

- Start planet is 50% Iron & 50% Food --> why not 50% of everything? even 50% of inkome, or an option to start with the planet at its mazz population reazhed.

- Start with 20 CFS already built on home planet ---> disagree, it leaves less spaze to build infra, so a harder bor strat.

But your idea is good, the lame starting should be boosted.  I think there are some things easily doable for this purpose:

1. Inkrease size of home planet, make it sized 500 (a spezial one)
2. Inkrease amount of kash/ress to be able to FB that big planet
3. Add an eztra 50% researzh bonus that you kan set in 1 attribute only from the start, and this eztra bonus dissapears in 48h.  This way most of people would be able to build 2*faster  (if plazed in konstruktion bonus), or you kan set a banker to put it on ekonomy and fb his planet with KFs.  Or a resourzer kan plaze it at resourzing, a HK attaker kan FB with RZs and do a dezent fleet jump bfore the bonus dissapear, etz..

^ those 3 features would for sure boost the startup of the round

Re: Accelerated / Quicker Start:

Thanks for reply Render smile

Some really good ideas there, did not know some rounds had started with 8 expo ships (missed that) dam it lol, but yes I agree increasing the slow start would be beneficial for the game.

I like your idea about making your home planet a lot bigger.

Also Render is right on this one, why would your home planet not be the best one in the system, why would you choose to settle on as planet with +5% Iron when you could have picked one with +50% and +50 Food or Oct and so on (you would pick the best planet)

Sure increase starting planet size

Give extra resources to fully build that planet straight away

Sure think that alone would help speed up the start of the round

Nice ideas smile

Yep, we've tried stuff where give additional resources and also extra explo ships, just to kick things along a bit.  Can still do more though!

What I had in mind, is an accelerated growth to people who join midway through the round (less so in family galaxies).  This is relevant to the single man families in Supernova.  Right now, if you join midway, you essentially start from the beginning and its extremely dificult to catch up.

Would be nice for these late joiners to get this accelerated growth (be it additional resources, or expos, or fleet, or w/e), to help them catch up a bit and be competitive.  Not enough to jump to 1st of course!  But something that helps them along the way.  IT can be based on overall progression of the galaxy - somehow.
