Topic: Red Vs Blue Harcore

Just an idea, feel free to tear shreds off of it.

The idea is a galaxy with two families (of approximately 50). Hardcore rules, no replacement of players once the galaxy starts. The goal would be to kill off the opposition family before they kill you. Winning would not involve size/neworth/score, it would purely be a last family standing competition.

And go.....

We've done this before, in Draco.

2 Families, lots of players in each.

As soon as attacks started, 1 fam jumped an attacker huge and he managed to overcome everyone.  In HC, there's no limitation after that, and the round was over before it even started.

Which is why the strats could be interesting, you could be losing infra but decide to just jump early and destroy them.

There are no strats.  As soon as attacking is allowed, one person gets the upperhand, and he just kills the entire opposition.  That's what happened last time and it was very much overrated.  Didn't last long at all, was over in like a few ticks.

Now ...if it was non-hc ...that's a different story altogether.  Cos one super jumped attacker, cannot win it for you.  Different strategies will have to come into play!

Is there a way to delay the HC aspect, so that it becomes HC after x amount of time?

I think you're still missing his point Gwynedd.  If at ANY point in the round it becomes HC, 1 super active player can have a massive jump and win the round tongue.  Delaying it would do nothing but make said jump be bigger, and possibly allow for a short competition between 2 massive attackers.

Excellent exercise to learn to play IC differently and still cooperatively: disable aid and it will be hell of a fun.

But I wouldn't play until all players of one side are wiped out. Looser is the side with the first below 10 players.

With such a large family however some sort of resistance could be created. Also, keep in mind that the whole idea of this galaxy would be to fight and be killed off. If they choose to only jump one player, your family might decide to jump an opper, kill all the portals of their one jump, give a small jump to your attackers and use your attackers to kill them off. If you went in of the mind whoever jumps biggest will win then that is the way it will work out. If you try to play crafty you could still win wink

Is it possible to modify HC rules? I.e. semi-HC - can be killed off but still limits on morale and ops per day - then maybe this might work, because 1 attacker will not win
