I think I'm missing something here.  Everyone says how great the new map is.  But I can't seem to do simple things with it, like look at where my family is in relation to other families.

I've been told that with the new map we don't need mapgen anymore.  But I can't get the new map to do the same things.  Am I missing something?

Is there a tutorial on how to use the new map?

it is available, just nobody is doing the mapfiles anymore, the new map has the option to make planets lists and use them very similar to mapgen, just not so fast and akkurate.

also the links to systems would be broken, so I kannot see the use of mapgen in the future, sadly sad

I'm really trying here.  But I'm having a tough time just sending out expo's.  Half the time I can't get the system to open.

The old map doesn't work at all.  It doesn't even show my home system.

Am I the only one who finds this hard to use.  Everyone keeps saying how great the new map is, but I keep running into errors and fighting it just to do simple things.

Seriously here.  Either I don't understand something, or this just isn't working.

What are your platforms? Mobile? Desktop? Browsers?  Have you tried different ones?


Also, mapgen is still out there.  The tools to create mapfiles should still exist - they're all in strat forum.  The only thing I assume that won't work with mapgen, is the opening of systems by clicking 'spacebar'.  Rest should work!

I checked Strategy forum. I dont find anything on guide on howto make map file for mapgen. I have no idea how to make that. Can you please guide me?
