ObamaCare was triumphantly announced by dozens in here, fully supported possibly by hundreds even. Shows how low information and intelligence they are.

ObamaCare is a train wreck, so far it has resulted in hundreds of thousands of full time jobs being dropped to part time, has stopped hiring at thousands of small employers, and has gotten doctors to start quitting in droves.


BUT WAIT! There is more!


Apparently it is not enough for ObamaCare to ruin the economy, it must also bankrupt hospitals as well.

You see if a Hospital releases someone who was hospitalized and that person gets hospitalized again in a month the Hospital gets fined. Under Republicans this was never a policy, in fact Hospitals were fined for NOT giving care. Under the new regime however this has flopped so that the chronically ill are now burdens upon hospitals and to society. Do you have bad kidneys? Congrats... your Dialysis treatments are now a burden upon society! Have an Accident one day, then at twenty days later get shot? You are now a burden upon society!

Hospitals will be managed to keep 'costs affordable' (It is called the "Affordable Care Act"!) and yet at the same time every time someone needs extra care it will crush the Hospitals spare funds. Which of course Democrats will use to pay for some pork barrel project... maybe studying the sex habits of mitochondria? Hospital intake officers will now be under pressure to tell those near a month away from their last hospitalization that they cannot be seen right away or otherwise prevent their hospitalization.





For those who did not read the bill before it was passed (I did) SHAME ON YOU FOR EVERY DEATH THAT OCCURS AND FOR THE DAMAGE TO OUR ECONOMY AND THE WORLDS ECONOMY!

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

I think you have sufficiently proved that you do not in fact do math flint...


That said if your post is right, there is something dreadfully wrong with all of america; how hard is it to give medical treatment to all citizens and residents when they need it? Seems a pretty straight forward process to me...

Also are you sure that the second hospital gets the fine? Seems like the more logical place to fine will be the original hospital and only if the second trip to the hospital was for exactly the same problem, i.e. the fine is to penalise hospitals for not treating correctly in the first place.

Strangely saying exactly how I thought it should work - i.e. the fines are to stop sloppy work first time round - so therefore is on being admitted for the same issue - not as flint ignorantly puts it, for being shot within a month of having a different accident. Also the only categories that get assessed at this point in time are heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia. Medicare is also considering holding hospitals accountable on four more measures: joint replacements, stenting, heart bypass and treatment of stroke.


So really the point of the process is not to fine hospitals, but to ensure they do a quality job and not to turn over patients as fast as possible to get more money.

About two-thirds of the hospitals serving Medicare patients, or some 2,200 facilities, will be hit with penalties averaging around $125,000 per facility this coming year, according to government estimates.

Data to assess the penalties have been collected and crunched, and Medicare has shared the results with individual hospitals. Medicare plans to post details online later in October, and people can look up how their community hospitals performed by using the agency's "Hospital Compare" website.

It adds up to a new way of doing business for hospitals, and they have scrambled to prepare for well over a year. They are working on ways to improve communication with rehabilitation centers and doctors who follow patients after they're released, as well as connecting individually with patients.

Who could possibly object to a new business method imposed on doctors by number-crunching bureaucrats?  I'm sure 2/3 of hospitals have $125,000 lying around to give the government.

If General Motors and Toyota issue warranties for their vehicles, hospitals should have some similar obligation when a patient gets a new knee or a stent to relieve a blocked artery, Santa contends.

Except getting a new transmission voids the manufacturer's warranty.  Implants are unnatural and it is natural for trouble adjusting to them.

Because some guys opinion is obviously truth. Breitbart.com makes no attempt to actually argue against the actual fines - which as stated above are only for very specific treatments.

Dailycaller.com talks about a completely different issue which I was not arguing about and have no opinion on, so your attempts at trying to sound right are failing again flint, once more you are being partisan and arguing points which are not true anyway.

bara: the US laws are possibly better, as they require the doctor to ensure that the patient does their recovery program - i.e. take a personal interest in the recovery and well-being of their patients.


On a side note, I can't find any non-blog site verification of the tax exempt status being taken away. As it stands on dailycaller.com it sounds stupid, and so very american, but i would like to have some somewhat neutral viewpoint on it, not obviously biased.

granted anyone who supports obamacare is wrong but if someone is making points with references, even references you find to be biased, you should at least try to find some support to back up your arguments rather than saying theyre wrong because they are republican or democrat

also, i used to care more about this illegal act but since the insurance company i work for stands to do pretty well with this crap, i've stopped caring so much and look at the stock prices rise instead.

being a true american means you are willing to throw out your values for the potential gain of more money \o/

I assume you are responding to my post? If you read further up you will find that i did reference my position with a news article, flint then posted 2 links as his references, one of which is a blog and in no ways covers the topic and the other may or maynot be a blog as well and also covers a different part of obamacare than what i was discussing. Neither in anyway are unbiased opinion and only serve to backup the fact that Flint has not grasped the actual content and is just shouting "obama sucks" as loudly as he can because obama happens to be on the other team to flint.

Being partisan does not develop good debating behaviour.

Flint: doesn't stop brietbart looking like a blog and not covering the topic in anyway like news, it was opinion with no backup and with apparent complete incorrectness.

Dailyercaller still does not talk of the issue originally raised, but a seperate issue which i can not find anyother links for so I have no idea if true or not. Also looking at the home page of the dailycaller, i somehow doubt it is "liberal" though i will read some more and see if it is true liberal.
