Change nothing please, it's great atm. ![]()
I mainly agree with Render. I want the chance to have allies also I think market should be open and that u can make your own race more. With more powerfull % options. Maybe 100% attack, 100% econ. In that case people have the opertunity to go CF/TO and buy ressies from market also people will have the chance to go only ressies and make money out of those who needs to buy them. Also I think the none HC is a good thing but I'd still like to see that morale last longer. as it is right now wars are hard to fight due to morale issues and it's easier just to nap everyone and infra whore.
Allies will likely not be considered for the next round. I believe the 'ally' code, is a bit screwed up atm.
Ok so I went to 'kreate raze' and simulated a Qezian with the result of -320 rps, plus the initial 120, it seems like Qezian raze is using 440 raze points.
What I'm proposing is to allow kustom razes to be kreated with 400 raze points, so still the Qezians would be a superior raze.
This 400 points would be distributed thruout the attributes with some tops:
Top for inkome would be 70%
Top for researzh would be 70%
Top for attak would be 80%
Top for speed would be 200%
Top for magik would be 80%
Top for popgrowth would be 50%
This way, we'd have a Supernova with Qezian still as the main raze, and other kustom razes around trying to kompete with them.
Way too may planets and home systems at the moment. This round will likely end with planets still unexplored. I say go down to an 80x80 grid with the center empty and have systems pop up like the donut round of Milky Way back in ancient times.
Also, is this a beginner galaxy or an advanced galaxy? If an advanced one, then disable the extra mapping features and make it like the old days where you had to search for the enemy, not just have the map highlight them for you. Based on the number of people using tax offices though, it appears to be a beginner galaxy.
NEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NEIN!
Leave it be!
Start up SaggyD for your guys crazy ideas! ![]()
A open market would be nice.
Maybe not allow stockpiling on it ? If that is a option.
So no one can lock the market down.
Custom races with loads of points would be nice, but only with an open market I geuss.
I want to vote for open market, but it can be also used support others. So I think better not to open the market.
May be add pop growth to qezian, so it will be interesting for mixing pop strategy.
May be more intense galactic event to show hars and unpredictable of SN galaxy:
- new increase bonuses event (existing % bonus increased), but also decrease bonus event (existing % bonus decrease and can be vanished too), can be unpredictable for own foods suply
- twins phenomena (soldiers increased), and massive plague (soldiers decreased)
- paralel dimension open (iron based units increased), and rusty winds (iron based unid decreased)
- gc increase and gc decrease,
- etc (any other ideas?)
I think this rounds been fun. But maybe the map is a bit big, but I guess that's only because it didn't fill. The way empire size Ob works makes it pretty difficult to grow once you get big. Buildings costing 400% more before you even starts makes econ pretty difficult to grow. It would be good to sees market for when you wanna go to war, nobody wants to have to so stack millions of ressies for just incase - however illegal market aiding would happen I think. Also oping someone is very difficult.
No market, no aid, but 10 (?) man families - allow custom races and standard races only?
keep it the same but add more tokaasi with vqrying levels of ai ![]()
yes it was good. i dont think any drastic changes need to be made, like custom races, i like how everyone is the same race. but like Alundra said would be nice to have varying degrees of AI from the Tokassi Empire if possible.
i think having 1 ally would be good too. and smaller map with not so many systems, maybe then will be more fighting.
I wouldn't change much, but I'd definitely reduce the number of systems so the explo phase will end before the rounds over!
Market is a nice idea for the reasons people have mentioned, it would allow you move away from the simple CF/MF/RF strategy and make TO's profitable for a banking game. It also gives you an opportunity to respond to war declarations so you can buy the resources to build up your army.
Finally I would say make sure the galaxy fills up in a more balanced way rather than all the free space on the right as it was this time. Players on the edge of the empty space were at an advantage from the start.
A new beginning!

This round seemed like a good idea and a step in the right direction from a game design perspective. But unfortunately it became unplayable due to the removal of certain bread & butter functionalities from the game - mainly from the map and layout changes.
Torqez alot of ppl stopped playing when everyone got demoted to a beta tester, all the content (while being good/decent actually) just got shoved up our ass and we had to deal with it and endure the pain it brought.
Why hasnt it been tested prior to going 'live'?
OT: Round seems fun, i'm generaly happy with it but there should be some more tweaks, like the family system that could be replaced (single player fams don't make any sense whatsoever).
When are we going to see a round where we the players can decide for ourselves what we want to play?
BNRG, there was testing conducted, everyone has just assumed no testing was performed. Somehow, between the dev gal and the live gal a lot of bugs appeared that we didn't have in the dev version.
Well next time when there is an update like this and it goes horribly wrong, revert everything to how it was before.

Indeed, like Gwynn said, there was some testing. Some of us preferred to delay it a bit more before release, but that wasn't to be the case.

Why?
When are we going to see a round where we the players can decide for ourselves what we want to play?
What are you talking about? This is exactly what the players have wanted, for a while now. See here.
I just wonder why everyone thinks that Mods/Devs/Stefan always are doing stuff against what Players want. We're only trying to help - and each individual person wants something on their own. For obvious reasons, we can't implement everything. But we do try to bring what most players want or what we think is good for IC. Hence the Ideas and Feedback forums.
Why?
The family tab in single player player family rounds just feels out of date, there is no family, hence no need to keep the tab. You can check everything else you need on other tabs, except for the family news (lol), Defense Fund and leader options.

The last round when we had something similar is when Render made it. Made by the players for the players. Look at that galaxy now, its not even existing....
I agree that Supernova might be something good and that everyone has been wanting to have a galaxy like this for a while, however I feel that not enough players have been consulted about this and that you and the other mods just gave us something that looks and plays a bit like what that OP intented it to be. Long story short, the IC potential is there, but it has too many rough edges.
we can't implement everything.
Yet the worst update ever got implemented because 1 (one!) person (not even a player) wanted it to be implemented. Do you want to rephrase what you intended to write?

A whole lot of unnecessary coding for nothing. Especially for something we're trialling out. Not going to spend time on making it solely for 1 player (by removing stuff), when it's not needed.

By Render's own admission, that setup didn't go according to plan, due to inactivity. Go read up the thread on it, and you'll see why. And you still didn't give a satisfactory answer. Supernova was brought, 'because' the players wanted. It wasn't just the OP of the thread. Go read the thread - it's 5 pages long and will give you an idea.

No, I don't. This is Stefan's game, and he sets the direction it heads. This has never been a democracy. Though we do try and influence the way it goes, based on what we think best and what players are saying.
Your arguments are inconclusive - on all accounts. I'm sorry you didn't get exactly what you want, and I'm sorry the interface upgrade didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked.
Having said that, I like where it is now, Stefan's put in a hell of a lot of work to fix it up. Unfortunately still having issues with some mobiles and the old map - but, again, that's still work in progress.
Sorry we don't conform to your high expectations.
