So why is the system map completely busted on my iPhone.
Don't think to support mobile iOS in that little update?
Can't click systems, gets stuck when you zoom in, half the options are unviewavle
... If IC wanted to try and thrive I figured it would be geared more toward mobile support
Yep, sadly it's not there yet, for the new map.
For phone/ie/etc users, the old map is still clickable through HQ page. Alternatively you can still use the sidebar, to navigate to specific systems and whatnot for now.

the new map is.....work in progress! yet you have it there as the main map, when the korrekt would be to have em the other way, old map running in the map plaze while the new map is linked in HQ.

Well, if Stefan didn't do that - noone would ever use it, and he wouldn't know what to improve.
Now though, a lot has been changed and added, based on feedback from the players.
If you remember, there's been a LOT of additions since the new map first came out - and this is solely credit to bringing it to the players and getting them to use it. It's like a Beta roll out where players are giving their feedback. Like you said, we havn't lost any functionality from the old map, given it's still provided.
Don't forget android support as well... iOS is dying anyway...
