like you do with facebook, you should be able to tag someone in a post here. To get their attention to the post

or prove who you are talking about, even just add it so when you type someones name its a clickable note:

Thats why i suggest clickable names

i see that poley was able to do that with you guys in announcements you really could just go off something like that and just send a "private message" to the player in the same time frame and then they will know they had been mentioned.. The original poster will have to do something to link the person to the story or forum ect.

Those aren't really 'clickable names'.  It was my workaround to make it look neat.  I just went through and used the  'url' bbcode, to link to their send message link. 

Doing that automatically, would mean, as you type or on post, it searches the user database or something and then linkifies.

Again, it's a nice idea - but I wouldn't know (read: take me too long to find out how) how to do it easily.  So right now, not worth investing time for me to do it.
