Topic: Single planet Victory

Ok so wasnt sure if this would belong in the strategy or question forums, so if it needs moved its cool tongue

My question is, is it possible to win or atleast finish a round on a single digit ranking, with just 1 planet, from start to finish, and with no family support?

And if so, how? tongue

Re: Single planet Victory

Ya have a gal with no other players. What a stupid question

Re: Single planet Victory

Yes.

If you spend 24/7 playing the market, buying low and selling high, thoeritically you could save enough for an eor jump.

Re: Single planet Victory

I think you'd lose way too much to decay with no real production to have a legitimate jump to make single digit rankings.

You have now been infected with Bird flu. Good day.

Re: Single planet Victory

Why play just for an EOR jump?

I'd play as a normal attacker, and build infra and fleet accordingly.  Then I'd take out ANY planet I want within the galaxy (only bad thing is travel time!) and hire out my services to the fam.  Then once I capture the planet I'd sell it to my fam (at a premium, ofcourse!), and reinvest in my home planet!

Invincible!

......least up until the leader would mark me inactive and someone kill me off while my fleet is out sad

Re: Single planet Victory

yup ok its not a stupid question, It could possibly be a legit tactic.

tho not just playing for an eor jump, And yup selling planets both gained and expo'd to your fam.
with 1 planet you wouldnt have to worry about losing anything, you'd need a heavy speed bonus tho and mostly have to have your con at 99% at all times tongue

but yup I can see anyone attempting this getting killed off kind of quickly tongue

Re: Single planet Victory

"with just 1 planet from start to finish"

You could not use Torqez's idea of taking and selling planets as that invalidates your premise of never having more than one planet.  I guess you could play the market like mad, but the levels of obessiveness would have to be off the charts and then you run the risk of their being a market GE at EOR ruining your 2 months of spending 20 hours a day constantly checking market.

That being said, yes this is a stupid question.  No it is not a legit or practical tactic.  Alundra, stop coming to the forums drunk.  Sometimes you're dumber than dpenguins.

Cash doesn't decay on market remember!

Re: Single planet Victory

Yeah except I wasnt drinking yesterday and Im not drinking today.
so you can blame this on my natural stupidy.

now I never said it was practical. Infact yes it would probably very silly to do this. however thats not the point. I was asking if it was possible. and from the responses Ive had it is possible, give or take only the market event.

so even tho it would take a helluva lot of obsessivness, its still a legit tactic

especially taking into acount the fact that the galaxies are getting smaller and so are the systems.

ps. thats 3 times you've been randomly mean to me now.

Re: Single planet Victory

i give you 1000 attempts to do this and the success rate would be 0. Even if it was broker and not you.

Someone figure out how many times you would have to double your starting resources in 1.5 mths to be able to jump this
1    The Justice    Mobile    70    23621594

and then we can prove how almost nearly impossible it is.

Re: Single planet Victory

yeah Im not going to do it. and I doubt anybody will ever do it.
My question was is it possible?
and you've just said how nearly impossible it is. meaning it is possible -_-'

Re: Single planet Victory

of course its possible thats just as stupid as your original post. Is it possible under normal circumstantces no.

Set the proper constraints and you can prove almost anything possible.

Re: Single planet Victory

Oh ffs, ok lets for a second pretend that Im actually stupid -_-'

why wont it work? Because all the reasons so far have been Independant variables, and although take alot of effort, dont prove its impossible.

This game is supposed to have custom playing styles, And All I want to know is why this cant happen?
Especially since you all agree that itd take loads of devotion and luck to do.  2 very possible situations

Re: Single planet Victory

Basically you can't gain enough resources to match a large empire producing resources. Worth a try I suppose but my guess would be tops 75 ranking

Leap ahead

Re: Single planet Victory

Ok cool. Soooo, next question then is, in the same sort of ss situation, what is the minimum number of planets You'd need to get a win?

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
