Topic: Summertime shenanigans

I have said this multiple times... and it seems that today it has yet again confused some people.

The IC game runs by London time, which is GMT during winter, and GMT +1 during Summer. However, everything about the game suggests that it runs by GMT, even the ingame timer. Today, once again, proved that the game engine maintains a GMT+1 time schedule during summer.

Come on Mods and developers, how many more years do you want to confuse people!

Okay, so I see the game started earlier.  16:00 GMT to be precise.

But verified the top bar is accurate at least.

Yeah, the top bar display GMT correctly, however, the game does not run by GMT tongue

Therefore the top bar should be changed to London time (GMT during winter, GMT + 1 during summer)

The problem is rather that GMT does not change according to time of the year, there is no summer or winter time for GMT!

Ideally, that'd be the solution (which I have suggested in the past), although I imagine that would be a more difficult fix to perform.

Changing the time on the top bar to London time could be a quick fix in the meantime.

For goodness sakes London time doesn't exist it's GMT or BST. Greenwich, where GMT comes from, is in London! If you want it would be better to say UK time, in the summer, even tho it's still friggen winter temps this yr & nothing like summer or even remotely approaching summer! We still have snow! But that's by the by. GMT or BST shyould be used to name the time correctly, not this "London" time lark! tongue

Wendy, we refer to GMT+1 as Amsterdam/Paris/Stockholm time too, at times, therefore, BST = London time smile

GMT has little to do with Greenwich, other than the name! They key letter here being the M.

BST might be the correct term. I just meant whatever time zone London is! (London, being a well-known city, making it easier for people to imagine what kind of time zone it would be than the abreviation "BST")

My point still stands though! Either change the clock on the top bar to BST (perhaps add London to simplify for people), or change the entire game to GMT smile
